Bottom of the 9th World Series Game 7

Score is 8 -5 Houston ahead . Brad Lidge walks the bases loaded and Arod comes up to the plate.

What you think happens?

I think he has a 40 % chance of reaching base like any other time.

Journey didnt expect that answer from you.

So you really dont believe certain people are clutch and certain others are not?

I do to a degree....I think by the time his career is over he will have had his share of clutch moments in October as well.

Bonds was labeled a choker too til his last trip...Steve Young couldn't win the big one, Peyton, Marino, Mike Schmidt had his post season problems too....

Marino - bad example J-Man.

Depends who God likes better and who God wants to win. You know, like the way he liked Kurt Warner better than Steve McNair.

Well, considering that Brad Lidge sucks and A-Rod is one of the top 3 players in the game...I'd say that A-Rod either walks or goes yard.

10000000000000% agree.

It's April 20th and I am already getting sick of the ARod bashing. Like JM said he has a 40% chance of getting on base. The problem is that is less than 50% and so most will say he failed EVERYTIME he comes up in a crucial situation and doesn't get a hit.

Trying to argue about one of the best players in baseball is stupid. That guy is human and we have thousands of at bats to grade him as a hitter but most feel like breaking his numbers down into small forms so they can twist these stats around. He is what he is and that is a 1st ballot hall of famer and one of the best offensive players to ever play the game, peorid. Arguing anything else makes no sense to me.

Ok than are you really telling me you would rather have Arod up in a clutch playoff moment than David Ortiz or Jeter? I just dont think so...

Another thing about Lidge, he had like one great yr, after a great half a year...1-1/2 years ... lots of closers over the years have been like this....He may NEVER be that effective again....20 yrs from now , Lidge will be a footnote in baseball history most likely known more for what Phat Albert did to him than anything else.

Brad Lidge's ten minutes appear to be up.

IMO, he is either tipping pitches or it is mental, he still throws gas. I heard one of the ESPN guys comment last year that he is "too nice" (meaning he doesn't have a killer instinct) and let's shit get to him too easily.

Ortiz career ...what took him so long, he was an entirely different player until age 27 ...he goes from being very slightly above average to Babe Ruth in his late 20's...

For God sake he was released in 2002. :ohno: insane clutch hitter!

His arm is too good to be done but there have been other cases, Wohlers, looney tunes Rocker...Greg Olson , Rob Dibble all were nasty and lost it. quickly.

I said Ortiz is an INSANE Clutch Hitter meaning 'off the charts' ...his post seasons have been incredible.

I was also pointing out his odd career....started out as just slightly above average, then waived , late 20's turns into Babe Ruth.
