over half the time...he's come up w/ no runners on base (38 out of 66 times were bases empty)...batting #2

compared to A-Rod having bases empty only 28 times...batting #4...w/ the reigning walks leader (Abreu), as well as a patient hitter Jeter batting ahead of him.

if Jeter's main job was to knock in 100+ runs...then the Yanks would smash every statistical off. category in history.

he also has a shit load of errors. Would love to see DJ do the right thing and give up his posistion to the better fielder.

This is the worst thread in the history of the Rx.

First off,

New York fans get on A-Rod's case because he sucks ass in the postseason big time the last two years.

1-14 last year with 0 RBI's.

New York fans don't give a shit about the 162 games.

Second off,

A-Rod = Home Run hitter, powerful, middle of the lineup, good in regular season

Jeter = On base guy, run scoring, can't help it if Mientkiewicz and Cabrera suck this year, clutch guy

Third off,

Comparing anybody in MLB to A-Rod right now is retarded.

Finally,

This was the headline.

Ryan Howard 1 homer

The point is its early. Put Jeter down for 200+ hits, Gold Glove Defence (minus about 10 days) and watch him nail a few of the hottest broads in New York. The guy is a gem.

Jeter is 4th on the AL's hit list......

But so far, the captain hasn’t given much reason to believe that a bounce-back is around the corner. Jeter is hitting .250. He has just two extra base hits for an anemic slugging percentage of .272, a signal that he hasn’t hit the ball with authority.

first i thought, 'how can he get rbi's w/gardner and posada batting ahead of him?'. i knew he was only batting around .250, but i didn't realize that he only has 2 xtra base hits.
