1. St Louis -140

When exactly was the last time when the cubs won two games in a row, been quite some time now, after winning yesterday in fine fashion ill look for hyde to show up in the cubs offense once again. Wainright though stumbling in his last start thanks to two early errors and pitching numerous additional pitches early has been solid this year going 1-1 with a 3+ ERA, while W Miller has not at 0-1 with an ERA of 9. St louis has won five of their last 6 against the cubs and while they have been dreadful at home at 1-6, they have been good on the road at 6-4, while the cubs have struggled at home going only 3-6. While St louis has lost 4 of their last 5 the losses have been against pitchers where there have been few encounters: Marquis( cards teammate), Lilly (AM League), Lowry (young pitcher), and Gorzellany (young pitcher). The one guy that they did have success against and actually beat was a guy they knew Matt Morris, they get that advantage today with veteran wade miller, who pujols has torched, could be a good day for him to get off. One thing is for sure, something wild will happen at Wrigley, it always does.

:103631605 2. Atlanta -102

Atlanta romped two days ago then the mets romped yesterday. The difference in this game is that Glavine has struggled historically against his old team, while Smoltz has turned the corner of late vs the mets. Thought id be able to play the angle of glavine going back to back starts vs a philly team in dissaray, then i see that smoltz has gone two in a row vs washington. Three back these two squared off with SMoltzie getting the better of Glavine. Glavine's last two starts vs atlanta have been poor at best going 9.3 innings and allowing 8 ER, while SMoltz has been lights out going 14 innings and allowing only 2 ER. Will stab at the bravos today.

3. LA Angels -157

Ervin Santana has been bad this year but with as bad as Jeff Weaver has been does it matter, all the numbers point to the Angels today. Seattle has lost 5 games in a row, 5 in a row at Anaheim and are 2-10 straight up against the halos over the last 12. The scores in Weavers starts have been 11-2 and 14-3 in favor of the opponent. Santana has struggled but those games were against boston, cleveland and texas, teams that can put up numbers. While the mariners are 1-3 away from safeco LA is 7-2 at home. Fairly big lay for Santana but not against Weaver. Play the halos

4. NYY/BOS OVER 10.5 -105

I notice a lot of people on this site are expecting a low scoring game, i tend to disagree here. I dont think we can crown Dice-Kay or however you spell it as the king of the mountain yet, having only faced Toronto, KC, and Seattle this year, actually losing two of those games. He will get a real test tonight, with his first quality home game vs a serious rival, i dont think he will be hitting double digits in the strikeout category tonight. You sure cant trust the Yankees with Chase Wright on the mound, winning his first start 10-3 over cleveland, but showed a lot of nerves walking several batters, if that happens tonight the Sox lineup wont be as generous as Cleveland was. He was only able to go 5 innings in that start, i dont think he could go any deeper in this start which means multiple innings for the yankee bullpen which has been troublesome of late. The yanks have played in 5 consecutive overs, for boston the total has gone over 13 of the past 19 games. The total has gone OVER in 9 of NY Yankees's last 10 games when playing on the road against Boston. Nobody in the yanks rotation has gone more than 5 innings over their last 5 games. Yankees are the highest scoring team in the league at 6.4 runs per game. Red Sox are the third highest scoring team in the league at 5.1 runs per game. When its Yankees/Redsox, expect the unexpected, i dont think Dice-Kay knows whats in store for him tonight and Chase Wright with only one big league start since being called up from Double A must be jittery going into tonight, Ill look for runs again. Last six games between these two in boston: 7-5,7-6,2-1,8-5,13-5,14-11. Lots of crooked numbers in there with the exception of the 2-1 game where the yanks had already put boston to bed last season after winning 4 in a row.

147/140 OVER 10.5 NYY/BOS:103631605

Would you rather be rooting FOR or against runs in a yankee-redsox game?
