bos.gif BOS: RHP Josh Beckett (4-0, 2.55 ERA)
vs

The 27 years old Josh Becket will be taking his 2nd start on the road this season today at Camden Yards against Baltimore Orioles. Boston (13-7) came to Baltimore after being outscored 17-6 by the Toronto BlueJays in a two-game sweep at Fenway Park. Yesterday the Redsox bounced back after two games loosing streak winning 6-1 at Orioles with C Shilling starter whopitched seven innings to earn the win and allowed his only run on a home run to Miguel Tejada. Yesterday's victory was the 21st for Boston in 24 meetings with the Orioles (11-10) since Sept. 3, 2005. The Red Sox are 11-2 at Camden Yards. Beckett's only career outing against Baltimore was a 11-1 win Josh limited the Orioles to one run and two hits including a Tejada homer in seven innings. Beckett is looking to become the first Boston pitcher to win his first five starts of the season since Pedro Martinez. Against the Yankees he allowed 2 runs in each of the first two innings finishing with 6.2 innings and grabbing the win 7-5. Baltimore's starter is still undefeated this season but he struggled against the Red Sox as a rookie in 2006, posting an 0-1 record and 9.00 ERA in three outings. This is a divisional game in East between 1st and 2nd place, and the Redsox will grab the win.

Score: Redsox 4 Orioles 2
Play: Boston Redsox -144 (1.44/1)

another play for thursday

-------------------------------------------------

hou.gif HOU: LHP Wandy Rodriguez (0-2, 4.74 ERA)
vs
pit.gif PIT: RHP Tony Armas (0-2, 18.90 ERA)

I must be crazy to back a guy who allowed 17 runs in only 6 innings pitched.
The Houston Astros dominate last year series going 13-3 against Pittsburgh but this season till now looks like its Pirates turn to kill the Astros. Following a dramatic victory their last time out, the Pirates look to win consecutive series over the struggling Astros for the first time in more than 27 years as they wrap up the three-game set on Thursday. Pirates (9-10) had a 3-1 lead over Houston in the ninth inning on Wednesday, but the Astros rallied to tie the score to 3. The Pirates succeded to win the game in the 16th inning. The Pirates won all five games over the Astros this season and they have not swept consecutive series over Houston in the same season since 1979. Houston's Lance Berkman is 6-for-9 with two homers and six RBIs lifetime against Armas. Houston is on a 5 game loosing streak and Pirates won 3 consecutive games. No way Astros will be swept by Armas, this is the perfect spot to take Houston, they will bounce back from that streak.

Score: Astros 7 Pirates 4
Play: Houston Astros -118 (1.18/1)
