Sounds like you already did.:think2:

not really. real estate auctions are different than others.

Certain eBay online auctions involve non-binding bids (for example, some real estate auctions). Non-binding bidding is not a contract between seller and buyer. However, non-binding bids represent a buyer’s serious expression of interest in buying the seller’s item. Furthermore, insincere bidding is not permitted

My sister company woks in and around Detroit, I am located 60 miles north and Detroit is a different story.

DO NOT MESS WITH IT!!!!

This is coimg from a man (me) who has just bought 3 properties in the past month.

Until you have been there, you just don't know.

There are properties like this all over a website that I go to less than 20 minutes from my house and I don't even waste my time.

do you see any value in buying up 20 or so of these and holding onto them for 5 years or more?

The value is in renting them out for a positive cash flow. If you get a house for 8 or 9 dimes and rent it out for $400 or $500 a month, it'll probably be a good money maker for you, unless unforseen expenses came up. Let us know what happens.

It is a bad area. renting may be an option, but might be too much hassle for me. Taxes would be miniscule so holding on to them would not be a problem. This house was sold for 49k 11 months ago

For $8500, why wouldn't you? If it doesn't need work to move a tenant in (giving consideration to the tenant you would get, not you or someone like you living there) then yeah. If you have to put $10k into, no. Finding a property manager may be tough though, generally they don't want anything to do with shit areas. Finding a Section 8 tenant would be PERFECT for you.

WVU do you want me to do a drive by and take more pics for you. I can look inside and see if it is traches and check to see if it is falling down in any spots. LOL Let me know I will do it. But this area is real tough.

What would you be able to rent that for anyway? I assume you would just hold it for a few years.
