Anyone think this -171 price is way off, considering Hughes is making his first MLB start (and in the Bronx no less).

I realize he is their top pitching prospect, but wow, this is a very tough spot for him.

Personally, I do lean toward the Yanks -- I have made good $$$ fading Burnett, and will continue to do so, but no way in hell am I laying this much chalk on this Yanks team tonight behind a rookie pitcher.

Thoughts?

You gotta like the Yanks here, this kid is good, i mean he might not be fully ready, but he wont give up 7 runs or anything, i mean 6 IP and 3 runs is good enough to get a win

Put it this way, if we were named the starters at Yankee Stadium, we'd still get a -110 line. I can't remember the last time a yankee pitcher was a dog in the bronx.

Come on man, that happens several times a season.

If Toronto gets to that kid early then the Yankees have to go to the dreaded bullpen and they are done. I like Toronto +160 and over 9.5.

FWIW, Hughes has not gone more than 90 pitches in any minor league starts this season. Hard to see him going more than 5 innings tonight. You never know though.

This line is WAY off...this line is purely a reflection of the books reacting to the public knowing the Yanks have lost 5 in a row....and there is NO WAY they can lose 6 in a row now that they're back in the Bronx..right?? Burnett +160 is VALUE defined...I'm not saying the Jays win this game but there is no way you can take the Yanks at this price behind someone you've never seen (20 year old kid)...no way. If it were only about scoring runs, the Yankees would be the play night in and night out..but pitching and defense (among other things) are huge parts of the equation too. The fact that the Yankees are 8-11 is no coincidence; the public is enamored with the Yankees (and rightfully so given their history) and the public loves teams that score runs...The Yankees are a great fade this year..the lines have not yet caught up to this team with some serious deficiencies..but they will; they always do.

Fade away....Yanks should be no more than -125 in this game.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. :drink: But can tell you without a blinking an eye/missing a heart-beat, on the Yanks tonight. :drink: :drink:

I'm on the bluejays too, i know 6 in a row can be lost, just ask the braves, years ago with all the great pitching they had, they lost several games in a row and the line was adjusted accordingly thinking tonight is the nite they get that win, cost the heck out of us cuz we kept doubling up and well lets say the yanks have a problem with their pitching so why is it so hard to believe they cant lose 6 or more in a row. + 65 or 70 is a line i'll play.

You will witness this kid throw a GEM tonite. Will throw a WRENCH in the yankees rotation once they are healthy. This kid is the REAL DEAL.
