Record: 53-69
Profit: -17.6
Predicted Lines:
Boston -130, U8.5 -120
NYY -115, O10 -115
Det Pk, 8.5 Pk
SD -135, U8.5 -112
LAD -200, U9 -120
Bets:
Baltimore Orioles +135
Baltimore/Boston Under 9 +100
Pitchers: Loewen/Beckett
Loewen scares me but the Red Sox offense is down this year and even when they were up, they never hit that well on the road OR against lefties. Beckett is a nice pitcher who should do well but with Baltimore at home and both teams having good bullpens, the dog and the under are the plays.
Toronto Blue Jays +160
Toronto/NYY Over 9.5 -105
Pitchers: Burnett/Hughes
The over may be a square play since it got steamed bigtime the other way but I'll give it a go. Burnett has a poor history against the Yankees and although I don't think he'll get absolutely rocked, he should give up like 4 or 5 runs over 5 innings. Hughes is the super duper prospect but he has not been pitching that great in the minors and the Jays can mash alot of guys. If Hughes is off, he could get knocked out pretty early. I see this one as just about a tossup with a bunch of runs scored.
Detroit/CHW Under 9 +100
Pitchers: Robertson/Contreras
This one is scary too. The Sox can't hit lefties so I expect Robertson to have a good game, maybe giving up 2 or 3 runs over 7 innings. Contreras is scary but has pitched very well against the Tigers at home. Plus, a bunch of the White Sox are dinged with various injuries. Both starters should do pretty well and even though Todd Jones is just waiting in the pen to screw me, I gotta play this at even money.
San Diego/Arizona Under 9 +100
Pitchers: Young/Livan
Young has dominated most of this season and Zona can't hit anyone. Their youngsters aren't contributing yet and Young has had no problem controlling them in Zona. Livan is another scary pitcher who may give up runs but, even though he always gives up a ton of hits and walks, he generally doesn't get rocked. If he can hold it together and get some ground balls, I see this one going under.
LA Dodgers -177
Pitchers: Penny/Ortiz
Ortiz hasn't pitched well, even in easy matchups, and the Dodgers' offense is looking much better with Furcal back at leadoff. Penny has done well and has a pretty good history against the Giants and should throw a nice one. 5-2 Dodgers.
