sorry I missed this...glad to hear you're making progress...I believe in charting progress, I can only speak for myself but IMO it helps greatly, I don't post advice just to say something if I said it I did mean it sincerely.

I've been somewhat of fitness/sports nut most of my life , I realize and appreciate this stuff more than most, FWIW....I know where you're coming from and respect those who try to better their level of fitness one step at a time.

a 4-5 mile jog is nothing to sneeze at...I would have a hard time jogging 4-5 miles straight these days, just don't run all that much and when I do I realize my running stamina is way down...

I bike a lot and do get a lot of walking in and lift weights, trying to get back into the flow still, it gets harder as the years add up...my biggest problem is winter, I have really suffered big time the past 3 winters now and I'm noticing that as I near the 40 age barrier (38 now) its getting harder to just flip that switch on, now if it was always summer I'd never have this problem....aging sucks! I even tried tricking myself last winter to get thru it,still slumped, I feel I'm getting there now, now that the weather is warm...

Anyway, congrats!you should be proud of the accomplishment, looking back and seeing the progress is doubly sweet...I'm sure you're feeling better a whole lot better than last year.

BINGO- "i didnt realize or appreciate that i was in great shape"

You really don't, no matter how hard you try to appreciate it , til its not there....I've learned to appreciate, learned to appreciate that it's not easy , and no matter where you've been in the past -tomorrow is another day you have to defend what you have accomplished.

I always say 'you're either coming or going when it comes to fitness', there is no 'sitting on idle' ... the good thing about building a strong base over the years, your body does bounce back much faster than someone just starting out....I'm starting to see signs it will get tougher to bounce back...

I do enjoy talking about it or reading about someone else's plight to get back....I'm sure you have motivated others.
