Good Question....the offense is there and even their bullpen is fairly stable but christ..that pitching...they got like 2 home wins or something like that this year?

NY has some bats. STL doesn't even have that. Their pen isn't very good, no speed and very little hitting beyond Poo Holes who is not hitting well right now. Starters are decent and pitching pretty well, but they can't score.

LaRussa is part of the problem...

He went nutso in his postgame presser tonight...

StLouis is a one newspaper town...

LaRussa refuses to speak to anyone that works for the Post Dispatch...so after the game when a couple of their reporters started asking him ?'s...he snapped...

He did not like a story they had on the front page today about the Cubs...so now "Cocktails" LaRussa is acting like a baby...

At the very end of the presser...it looked like he wanted to fight the Post's 300+ pound columnist Bernie Miklasz.

Was bizzare.

What in the hell are you talking about? If you think the Cards have no pitching, then you know nothing about baseball. That's one of the dumber posts I've read on here. You aren't even right when you say they are old. Stop posting nonsense.

Pretty obvious that the problem is their 1 and 2 pitchers are on the DL. Take that away from any team and they would struggle.

It's true that when Carp comes back, he will give them a huge lift. But they have a good lineup and a good staff besides Carp, and a good pen. Nobody but Duncan has hit so far, but that's baseball. Nobody knows if Mulder will ever return to old form, so I don't think anyone's counting him in the mix right now. They would have a good record even now, if their good hitters had hit so far.
