No pitching
No first baseman
No bench

I guess $220 million doesnt go as far as it used to. Damned inflation

That was damn pretty.

yeah...looks like the Sox 80 gabillion dollar pitcher, got the Yanks again tonight.

(Luv it when Sox fans use money in the argument, like the Sox payroll is so far off).

Its April...has to said again, the Yanks were struggling last April as well...Sox were riding high...then Yanks finished first, and Sox finished 3rd. 162 complete games in a season. Don't think the Yanks will throw in the towel.

The Red Sox are incredible to start the season.

Of course, that could all fall apart.

But what a start.

If Tampa holds on, the Yanks will be a full game in last.

I love it.

Baseball is unreal. Sox big rally last Friday against the Yanks has spurred BOTh the Sox streak and the Yanks slide. No doubt about it. Also the game before last Fri the Sox had a big rally to beat the Blue Jays on Manny two out ninth inning Hr. Those big hits and comebacks and turn a team's fortunes.

Do you not approve of Coco Crisp now? He was great, and to think Willy Mo is the back up.

if i remember correctly the NYY were 13 games out @ the all star break last yr, and we all know where they finished up. Plus once Wang, Mussina, Clemens, Hughes, and Pavano are all @ full strength the NYY will be fine.

It wont mean anything if Mariano continues to pitch like garbage.

Hope Crisp plays well. He had a bad year last year and has started slow this year. I am not a big fan of his, NO. I do not think he handles the pressure of Beantown well either. I think he will be benched by August. IF Pena can get more comfortable and make more contact he could be huge. Nice to have both.

How does this team not address starting pitching they keep going after old injured pitchers?

When the NYY were winning WS it was with pitching.

I said this back in January the Red Sox pitching was far superior and could not understand the Papplebon move from closer role, I'm sure that will be the last time we see talk of him moving to a starter.

The Yankees will still probably eek out a WC but it won't matter with these starters...Mussina and Pettitte are too old now to dominate consistently enough.

Cashman needs to thrown from the upper deck in the Bronx. What Ron Guidry said his arm was too tired to pitch this year Cashman?

I know a lot people will disagree with me on this one, but Andy Petitie has been a product of great offenses over the years. Yes, he has pitched well in the post season, but people act like petitie is Rocket or Pedro.
Pavano is stealing money. Moose is very solid and when healthy a lock for 15-18.

However, you are going to spend crazy money, should have paid for Zito and tell Zambrano you will pay him. These guys would be sick on a team that can score like the bombers.

Was Scott Proctors armed attached in the 1930's. Everytime I look he is pitching, its like he is trying to chase Mike Marshall's record.

I still think Torre is one of the best, but man when said a big bag of shit to the mound everynight you are not going to win.

Ill take a stab on the red sox tomorrow. Wakefield has pitched well vs New York over his career and is off to a good start this year ( 2.08 ERA) and Boston banged around that Karstens kid a week ago.

plus Papelbon is lights out if he comes in while red sox have a shot if they need to get to Riviera. They beat him up again tonight in the 9th before he got yanked

Somebody is going to get fired soon with these Yankees. Guarenteed. Don't be surprised if it's Torre and they put Mattingly at the helms.

I cant see that helping though. Torre is a class act and a good manager. the problem they have is injuries to pitchers they need, hole at 1st, no bench, not many good arms in the bullpen and they are all overworked.

firing Torre doesnt solve any of that. they might do it anyway.

They put the camera on Torre tonight, down two with a 6 game losing streak he was laughing. Granted the Yankees had the bases loaded and 0 outs, but that shit doesn't sit well with Steinbrenner.

Torre has been a moron this year for more than a few reasons. Let's start with Rivera going in the 8th. They wanted that win yes, but it wasn't necessary after sweeping Cleveland. Rivera is old, let's overwork him early in this season.

When Jeter was out yesterday they put Cairo in at shortstop and put Mientkiewicz batting 2nd. Are you fucking kidding me? You put Mientkiewicz batting 2nd who couldn't hit a blimp this year when you have a future batting champion in Cano batting 7th.

He is also in love with Scott Proctor way too much. Proctor doesn't have good enough shit, he just throws the ball down the middle of the plate as fast as he can.
