Promissary Note.

He is putting up sufficient colatteral, but I still want to do a note.

I have done it before, but no longer have the program that had it on. I know you can buy them, but does anyone know of where to get one for free?

search onine, there are crazy amounts of notes that should suit your needs.

Especially since you have done one before you kind of know what you are looking for and this should be simple.

Point of interest to Annoying English Majors...

You don't "loan" money.

You "lend" money.

Does he own a home ? If so, record a lien on his deed if he'll allow it.

That's cool that you have your boys back and I hope all goes well. But if there is any problem down the road, you can count on Mathis to hand you a slice of tasty justice.

About ten years ago, my brother in law got on Judge Joe Brown tv show.

He was a plaintiff against a guy who he gave a bunch of sports memorabilia on consignment and the guy never paid him the $500.

Dude tried the "I thought they were a gift" defense and got shut down by Da Judge.

Classic television moment is the post-courtroom interview with my bro in law and my wife's sister.

I loaned $4,500 to a friend and had him sign a note that I just drafted up on my computer and have a copy of the cashiers check. This was about 3 years agoand I have only received about 5% of the money back. What can i do? He just doesn't have the money at all. If I see an attorney, i'll have to pay for it anyway and the only thing they could do is garnish his wages. He has 2 kids and money problems, what to do?

I loaned another friend $80 awhile back and still have not been paid back.

I will never loan anyone money again. Only my mom and she would never need me too anyway.

when you have money everyone wants to borrow some. Never a good idea. If they need to come to you instead of a bank it is because they have shitty credit which should tell you collecting will be tough
