Cleveland, SF stand out to me

Cleveland did horrible.

You don't trade what will no doubt be a top 10 pick next year( it has every year since 99) just to get a system quarterback at best when you could have got Beck or Stanton who are very similar to him in skill level anyway just 12 picks later.

In the NFL, if you have a bad team, those first pounds picks mean absolutely everything. Crennel only supported because he knows he won't be there after this year.

Cleveland, Cincinnatti and Oakland if you count Bush today had great drafts.

I like what PT did in first two rounds. Good help on D. 3rd round choice was a little strange. Kid is good, but don't see tight end as a big need with them. Hopefully today they get some help on O line.

Cleveland wins because they got both picks they really wanted. Quinn could be a bust or a stud. But they need a quarterback, so who's to say the QB they would have spent their first rounder on next year would be any better than Quinn. I think they made a great move.

You don't draft a quarterback simply because you "need" one. You draft him because you beleive he will be the face of your franchise for 15 years. Quinn could be a hall of famer but either way, Cleveland is most likely picking in the top 5 next year and 100% chance will be picking in the top 10 and thats if everything works out.

What will it look like next year at this time after they go 5-11 and don't have the 6th pick in the draft?

When you are a bad team, you don't make trades like that. Its a little different when you are the colts and they traded their #1 next year because that will barring a dozen season ending injuries be anywhere from 24-32 and are set at many positions but Cleveland has a lot of needs.

Now after a bad season next year, you have nothing to look forward too as a Browns fan. persoanlly, I think brian Brian yhas more talent than brady quinn but we won't know that for awhile anyway so no need to discuss it but I just would not want to mortgage a guaranteed top10 pick next year for a system quarterback at best. give him a ton of talent and he'd be manageable as an NFL quarterback but people have to be kidding themselves if they see him as a perrenial pro bowler.

Just as importantly, not paying him top-5 salary either.

So someone explain to me from a value standpoint why you think the browns are having a great draft. I've given my reasoning above.

Also, if you count Eric Wright, their 2nd rounder from UNLV. The guy has been kicked off of USC's team and has been arrested for something to do with XTC pills. Not that I'm some big preacher on that because there is nothing wrong with it personally but with this whole NFL on character watch, you have to pay a little more attnetion to that now than you did previously.

Simple, the 22nd pick is worth more than next year's #1 - unless it is a top-5. It is hard to get a franchise qb and OT in the same draft. I don't know about the rest of the draft though. The Browns biggest need now is a dependable RB. Those are much easier to find than the QB or OT.

I think the Browns offense is ok, however they need to turn some attention to that D.

What is Green Bay thinking about in this draft?

No RB to replace Ahman Green

Needed a another WR (Moss would have been Nice)

plus other needs on Defense like in the secondary

not a good draft in my opinion

So what happens next year at this time after the browns finish 5-11 which is a pretty fair prediction for them. And now you have the 6th pick overall in the 2008 draft after having a shitty season. Oh wait, no you don't you traded essentially what was your 6th overall pick for the 22nd overall pick.

I say the 6th overall pick because the Browns have picked in the top 10 every season since returning to the league in 1999 and that included 2 #1 overall picks.

Love the Joe Thomas pick. That was huge but I just think that is a huge risk for a team that really can't afford it meaning the trade. Quinn isn't exactly a sure thing either. no one is, but he is very shaky. What are they going to do at RB? can't get a top one for at least 2 years and still have a shitty D. Jamal Lewis is on the downside of his career.
