5-5, +0.5 units yesterday. Got screwed over on the BlueJays in the 9th, but then it evened out for me as I got lucky on the Mets over. Overall, a winning day is a winning day. Trying to scoop up a little more than some beer money today....

2* NY Yankees TT over 5 -130

Love playing overs after low-scoring games between two good teams. Not sure how Wang will do in his first start back, and 10.5 with juice is a bit high, so I'll just say I'm confident that the Yanks are off the schnide, they broke the 7 game losing streak, and they have a chance here to take a series on a Sunday afternoon vs. what is really a relief pitcher. Yankees bat over .340 vs. Tavarez who is not pitching well right now.

Picks are on the way over the next 30 mins

1* NY Mets -1.5 -115

Love Maine to slow down the Nationals today, as NY goes for the series win. Mets bats finally woke up last night in extra innings, and I think that carries over to today. Laying runs and juice, keeps this play small at 1*.

1* Tampa Bay Devil Rays EVEN

3rd day in a row playing the D-Rays, and for good reason. They continue to be undervalued. This offense is the real deal. And they start a quality left-hander today in Scott Kazmir. Oakland is one of the worst teams in baseball vs. left handed pitching and they went off yesterday on Fossum who just wasnt good enough to shut down the A's lineup. Kazmir is and then some. I love fading teams off blowout wins. You see it everyday, including yesterday as the Yankees defeated the Redsox after the Redsox won 11-4 the day before. Oakland comes out yesterday and hits a ton, and I think they comne back down to earth today, while this D-Ray offense continues to hit. They quietly scored 5 runs yesterday. D-Rays bullpen, and the fact that they are on get-away day keeps this play at 1*.

1* Orioles/Indians over 10.5 EVEN

Two terrible pitchers. Both teams can score runs in bunches. Tone was set last night with a 7-4 game. I like them to do something similiar again today.

1* Detroit Tigers +142

Fading Minnesota off the blowout victory yesterday. Johan on the road is not the same as Johan at home in the dome. Daytime game, changeup is easier to read out of the hand and that is his bread and butter. Minnesota is bottom half in the bigs vs. left handed pitching, Detroit up at the top, as a big home underdog, give me the Tigers here at a good value. The Detroit Tigers have won all 4 games that Mike Maroth has appeared in this year. He has historically been a good daytime pitcher, especially at home. He's had some good success against the Twins, holding them in check - giving up just 5 HR's in 170 at-bats (or less than 1 per game). And as long as Maroth maintains that damage control today, he will have a good chance to win here.

2* Pirates/Reds under 8 -105

Paul Maholm is one of the better young lefties in baseball. He is a bulldog on the mound and he is tough to score runs against at home, where his ERA is almost a full 2 runs smaller at 3.00. With the Reds being one of the wrost in baseball vs. left handed pitching, batting .225 as a team, Maholm should have success today vs. the key hitters in this Reds lineup that bat from the leftside. For the Reds Aaron Harang faces his favorite team: The Pirates. Harang has not had more success vs. any team in the big leagues than the Pittsburgh Pirates, and pitching at Pitt is his best park to pitch at. Both pitchers should find success today, runs should be tough to come by and this should stay under. Griffey is doubtful today with a chest injury taking a big bat out of the Reds lineup. Under is 29-11 in Pitt's last 40 home games, and under is 6-2 last 8 between these two teams. Small juice, alot of things in our favor makes this a 2*.

GL on the plays...
Bergmann and Hill are Nationals' best pitchers hands down. They'll prob. be the only 2 pitchers I don't fade from my Natty Lights all year.

Yeah they are solid, but I dont think theres any doubt they both lose at least 8-12 games this year just "cuz". With a rubber game where the Mets will be a bit more focused, and Mets bats coming alive late last night, and Maine on the mound, I'll take my chances in this spot right hurr.

Good luck today

2* Los Angeles Dodgers -106

Lowe vs. an overweight, over-the-hill Wells. Dodgers are just playing solid baseball all around and they have the veteran bats that can solve a guy like Wells real quickly. Lowe, a sinkerball pitcher, pitching at an under park like the Pads stadium, I dont see the Padres scoring much, while I can easily see the Dodgers going off for 6-7 runs today. Good bounceback spot here in the rubber game. Lowe isnt the same pitcher on the road, but his sinker minimizes damage, especially in this park. Outside of Cruz who has hit 4 HRs' off Lowe, Lowe has given up just 2 HR's to the rest of these Padres hitters combined in over 130 at bats, or about 1 HR every 3 games. Lowe is off 2 straight losses, and that helps keep this line low. One loss was at Colorado, where I usually award a mulligan to any pitcher pitching at Colorado. The other loss was a tough one to San Fran where he went 7 IP, and gave up 3 ER. If he does that again today, he should be fine. Last outing vs. Padres was 7IP, 1 ER. Meanwhile this veteran Dodger lineup bats .333 vs. Wells in over 160 career at bats against him.

I wanted the Cubs tonight with Rich Hill, but unfortunately the car accident has this game postponed and rightfully so.

Good luck today on all your action.

Good Luck today Box... as I did yesterday.. I have to ask you about the Tigers/Twins game again...Yesterday I felt Silva would get shelled, he kept the tigers in check.. but the twins bats woke up. As you said they are not good against lefties, combined with the fact they hit around the park yesterday, and Santana is on the mound for them... I have to say the Under looks fairly attractive today.. Any suggestions? I normally don't only look at O/U, but in this series the way things are playing out they seem to be the more attractive wagers. I don't normally miss a Twins game as they are my hometeam.. so I feel I have some insight to their play...

any thoughts are appreciated

definitely would lean to the under today, just based off my main premise that 15 runs were scored yesterday and now i like to go under.....sort of the old baseball saying "save some hits for tomorrow, save some runs for tomorrow" now you have twins that suck facing lefties and johan can be dominant on the other side...both teams have good bullpens.

Good Luck Box, looks like a winning day is in the cards.

Are you making fun of him? Thats not cool man, Box had a rough day, leave him alone.

Of his 5 completed plays, he's 1-4. He has two pending plays left, one is winning and one is losing at the moment.

Rough day, Box, get them next time, and dont mind that fool Green Machine trying to diss you

Geez there are some clowns on this board.

Yankees left 12 runners on base. If they cash in with a basehit with 2nd and 3rd early in the game, I'm looking at 4-3, +2 units, instead of 3-4, -2 units. A simple basehit is the difference between a winning a losing day for me today, unless the Dodgers and D-Rays blow their leads. My day hasnt been the disaster some are making it out to be. Not to mention, I had the right side in the Mets game as they won, they just didnt win by 2.

I'm not crying over here or anything. It's part of betting. I guess winning 20 units less than a 1/7th into the season, and offering writeups for all of my plays, is something I should be apologizing for.

Clown.
