ESPN just did a story on Hancock - apparently was seen at a bar getting served free drinks all night and introducing himself to customers. Once source quoted him saying "gonna be a rough game tomorrow".

Outrageous...

This "Source" was again an un-named customer at the restaurant (not the most credible info possible)...

Let's not good too far ahead of the game here....definately possible, but just as likely that the kid is reaching down for a cell phone and swerves and doesnt look up in time !!

Schouest:

I was thinking the same thing, a bit premature to run this story imo. As no other injuries or fatalities occured i don't know the revelance of making it public regardless of the outcome of his blood alcohol results.

Man....I hope this turns out to be a false report. I would hate that I wasted sorrowful feelings on some drunk asshole who could have killed innocent people and not just himself.

It's not your imagination. Two kids that go to the high school in my town were killed because one of the kids, driving his fathers' $80K BWM hit the divider and smashed into a tree and crushed the car into an unrecognizable state. This happened less than a week ago.

When I got into my car this morning, I noticed that the girl across the street, who was supposed to graduate with them later this month has "RIP and their names" written on the car and "Only the Good Die Young".

Obviously it's a tragedy and I mean no disrepect, but I was thinking "Only the good die stupid".

I just worry for my own kids' lives with a bunch of idiots driving around like maniacs.

you might want her to see the movie "The Lookout". A bit of violence, etc. but the whole premise of the story centers around how a very bad car accident(involving teenagers) destroys lives.

very, very good story to teach the lesson of how much responsibilty is involved in operating a hunk of moving metal and plastic.

My exact thoughts when I heard of this.

Either sleep or stupor from heavy drinking.

i believe the clincher in this story is that the place he was at offered him a cab...in my opinion the only reason they would offer a cab would have been because they felt he was too intoxicated to drive home...

I think people should wait for the toxicology results before passing judgement.
We are supposed to live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty. Which is B.S. as far as the media and many people are concerned. Who knows if this person at Shannons restaurant didn't have an axe to grind because he wouldn't sign an autograph or something. Yea maybe he had been drinking but who among us has not gotten behind the wheel after having a drink or two. Not that its right but many of us have done it, none the less.
Yes its looking like a strong possibility that he may have been drinking but can't we wait for the results before we start judging. Its the man upstairs who does the final judging and Hancock has paid the ultimate price. Can't we let the man be buried in peace before people start tearing up his life.

The owner says they offered him a cab to cover there own ass.... they could be liable because they kept serving him drinks even tho they knew he was shit faced... Who is left to prove that they in fact offered him a cab..

Wanta quick reduction in teen accidents?
Law making it illegal to drive before 21 years old OR
upon completion of high school.

That in itself encourages kids to study, finish school or WALK.
If they ain't smart enuf to graduate, they don't have brains (common sense, actually) to drive.
