What happens if this game is not finished even though the Cubs are up 6-5 does it only go through the finished innings or will the Cubs win a game finally?

Very good question. I see what your line of thinking are since Cubs scored 4 runs in the top of 7th. From memory, yeah, the rule book does say that since the home team has not finished their frame of the 7th inning when the visiting team took the lead in the top frame of the 7th inning, then it would be reverted back to what it was at end of 6th.

However, I think there's something in the rule book about actually suspending this game if that exactly happened. It should be suspended, IMO, but no clue if there's anything in the rule book about that.

Confirmed... that this would be a suspended game to be completed at a later time if they cannot resume tonight.

4.12
SUSPENDED GAMES.
(a) A game shall become a suspended game that must be completed at a future date if the game is terminated for any of the following reasons:
(1) A curfew imposed by law;
(2) A time limit permissible under league rules;
(3) Light failure or malfunction of a mechanical field device under control of the home club. (Mechanical field device shall include automatic tarpaulin or water removal equipment);
(4) Darkness, when a law prevents the lights from being turned on;
(5) Weather, if a regulation game is called while an inning is in progress and before the inning is completed, and the visiting team has scored one or more runs to take the lead, and the home team has not retaken the lead; or

This is a situation per the new MLB rules where they would restart the game instead of ending it and they o longer revert back to the previous inning. So if they restart tomorrow the Cubs are still up.

How would the books grade this if the game gets called due to rain? I am not on this game I was just wanting to know in case this ever happens to me.

If I read everything correctly, it looks like Pinny, 5Dimes, Sportsbook and WSEX all revert to the last complete inning in this case, giving Pitt the win. BetJam considers all suspended games a push.

I'm sure some books are still fumbling around and still not adapting yet due to the suspended game rule that's new for this year.

Even after that April 10th fiasco with a 2-2 MIL/FLA tied game in extra innings... in which the game was resumed the next day, there were a lot of problems with grading the bets (especially O/U in a tied, extra-inning situation).

I bet the books are still gonna grade the sides somehow.. when they should simply "No Action" both sides since the game would be resumed at a different day in the future (if there's no further activity tonight).

Just my ramblings.

great.
and what the fuck, i just talked to WSEX, and asked her what their policy is regarding a suspended game, and she said it would be a push.
Then i go to the website and it says, "For betting purposes, except for Interactive games and WBC matches, winners and losers of games are official after 5 innings of play. If the home team is leading, the game is official after 4 1/2 innings. Thereafter, if a game is called or suspended, the winner is determined based on the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called."

so that means i'd lose? what the fuck.
Exactly. You lose (if you on Cubs). Books are still stuck on this established rule:

=====
4.10
(a) A regulation game consists of nine innings, unless extended because of a tie score, or shortened (1) because the home team needs none of its half of the ninth inning or only a fraction of it, or (2) because the umpire calls the game. EXCEPTION: National Association leagues may adopt a rule providing that one or both games of a doubleheader shall be seven innings in length. In such games, any of these rules applying to the ninth inning shall apply to the seventh inning.
(b) If the score is tied after nine completed innings play shall continue until (1) the visiting team has scored more total runs than the home team at the end of a completed inning, or (2) the home team scores the winning run in an uncompleted inning.
(c) If a game is called, it is a regulation game:
(1) If five innings have been completed;
(2) If the home team has scored more runs in four or four and a fraction half-innings than the visiting team has scored in five completed half-innings;
(3) If the home team scores one or more runs in its half of the fifth inning to tie the score.

(d) If a regulation game is called with the score tied, it shall become a suspended game. See Rule 4.12.
(e) If a game is called before it has become a regulation game, the umpire shall declare it “No Game.”
(f) Rain checks will not be honored for any regulation or suspended game which has progressed to or beyond a point of play described in 4.10(c)

=====

But they are not realizing how Rule 4.12 becomes a factor here as the game may get resumed at a later date, therefore, the sides should at least get No Action (as well as O/U since this hasn't gone 8.5 innings anyway).

So Rule 4.12(a)(5) should be pushed into the books' faces when it says:

"4.12
SUSPENDED GAMES.
(a) A game shall become a suspended game that must be completed at a future date if the game is terminated for any of the following reasons:

(5) Weather, if a regulation game is called while an inning is in progress and before the inning is completed, and the visiting team has scored one or more runs to take the lead, and the home team has not retaken the lead
"
