I'm a partner in a business,(LLC) I have a high six income figure at my regular job. The Irs just called me and told me the business is behind 60 K on taxes. I am paying 20 K next week, will still owe 40K. My partner gave me fraudulent Quickbook reports. I had no idea,I live in another city.(Just closed on a house 1 month ago) They are going to possibly lock my bank accounts next week.:nopityA:They have already closed the business.

Tried to get a credit line, but have not been in my property long enough.

If a ever needed a 'TRIPLE PLAY", I need one now. Partner doesn't have any money.

Yep, that's one way.

Check out the section called "Apply for an Installment Agreement" in this link:

http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=169438,00.html

The IRS re-introduced the Installment Agreement monthly payment plan for the 2004 tax year when some piece of legislation authorized them to deduct money from taxpayers' banking information with the taxpayer's authorization.

I remember I owed quite a proportional amount of taxes to my income for the 2004 tax year because I hadn't bothered to withhold taxes on an IRA early distribution withdrawal that year (thinking I'd simply have the money come April 2005 to pay the extra taxes). I thought I was doomed until I saw that I could pay IRS on a monthly basis. I did that for 16 months or such & paid the unpaid taxes just fine.

Just a short story to confirm that this could be an agreeable way to pay back owed taxes over a period of time.

Action, what do you do with all of your disposable income?

If you have a high six figure job, you should easily have that money in an account. You need to liquidate some of your assets if paying the 40K from cash in account will put you in a bind. And then you need to at least threaten to sue your partner with all that book cookin. And then you need to have a serious talk with your partner.

Regardless, debt is a bad thing, and you should take care of it without having to go into more debt if possible-even though your partner is being shady.

No offense but how do you have a high six figure job and not have 40k?
