I am officially in a slump after yesterday's card. Part of it is the way I am playing the games. Gotta get back to my bread and butter. I'm usually very selective, but I have gotten away from that lately, because all of my leans were hitting, so I started playing a few of those. But now I gotta get back to what I do best, and play high percentage plays. Good luck.

3* Seattle Mariners -126
1* Seattle Mariners -1.5 +165

Back to high percentage plays, starting with Seattle. Besides being a tough home team, Seattle is red hot lately. They have won 6 of 7, and they are a team with a killer instinct right now, and playing a wounded duck White Sox team, playing off fumes from their World Series title 2 years ago.
Miguel Batista is the old veteran that can get the young pups out, and the Sox have started calling up some young Triple A boys to replace the big bat in Jim Thome and reliable steady bat of Scott Podsednik. Those two losses hurt, not only because they are two good bats, but they are two good lefthanded bats that would have fit in nice vs. the right handed Batista. After two straight road starts, look for Batista to find some consistency this season as he has his feet wet in the American League and now comes home to pitch after winning his last outing.
With the White Sox struggling without their firepower, they turn to 22-year old rookie John Denks, who is still winless in his young MLB career, to beat a red hot Mariners team at their house, with the high chance that he will have limited run support from this wounded lineup. Denks has been tough on lefthanded hitters, but the Mariners only have 2 - and he has been getting crushed by right handed hitting. The Mariners should continue that as they are a top10 team in baseball at home, and top 10 vs. lefties.

Seattle 7
Chi Sox 4

1* D-Backs/Dodgers under 8.5 -120

Couple of solid lefthanders start today, Davis for 'Zona and Hendrickson for the Dodgers. Hendrickson has been outstanding and I've always liked this guy since his brief stint with Tampa Bay. He used to be a very respected pitcher that flew under the radar playing vs. the Yankees and Redsox and so on, and he always held his own. Now moving to the NL, he is having a lot of success facing 8 hitters in a weaker league. I rode him last game, and he won for me, and I'll ride him as a critical part of an under here. D-Backs are one of the worst teams in baseball vs. left handed pitching.
Davis has held these Dodgers in check in both starts in his career. In fact, davis has yet to surrender a run to LA. LA had a hard time cashing in on runs last night and it almost cost them the game. With the RBI guys slumping with RISP, look for Davis to continue to hold the Dodgers in check and keep this game under the total.

2* Atlanta Braves -120
1* Atlanta Braves -1.5 +170

Bravos with a tough loss last night, but I believe they have a major advantage in this game. Again, they are a tough home team, they arent laying much here. This team leads baseball in homeruns, I believe, showing an ability to deliver the knockout blow. Freddy Garcia is the man during day games, but he's not the same at night, and onthe road. He'll face Chuck James, who can settle back in at home, at finesse this Phillies lineup that struggles to hit from the left side.

1* Yankees/Rangers under 10.5 -110

Final play of the card. Yanks win 10-1 last night in a blowout. Rangers were getting nohit by a rookie, Hughes. That is a major signal to me that the Rangers are in a slump, and/or are putting too much pressure on themselves to keep up with the Yankees. Let's see if this Rangers lineup presses again tonight.

On the flip side, Yankees scored 10 last night, and as I've said a bunch of times, my mini-system is to fade that they will do it again. Percentages and averages will play out and they will come back down to earth. I keep saying I like Robinson Tejeda, and he is better at home, and he is 4-1 I believe. Big test for him vs. the Yanks tonight, and he has the electric stuff to shut them down if he keeps the ball low.

That's all and good luck.
