A buddy and I have decided to go into a little small business together. Believe it or not he (not me) is going to pickup up other peoples dog poop in thier yard.
I have read up on this for a few years and it seems to be quite common in other parts of the country. There is no other type service like this in a 4 county radius where I live so I think this can be something that can be done.
It is not expensive to get started (truck and advertising the biggest costs) and works perfect in his schedule (he trains racehorses for a living). Not expecting to hit it big as there just isnt a alot of money involved in it (most poop pickups are in the $10-15 range). It is best too start something like this in early spring so we are a little behind the 8 ball right now. Like I said this is just something to add extra income and try to tackle an interesting challenge as I would be in charge of all the money upfront and keeping books and answering phones, etc...
I think a catchy name would help and so I thought I would throw it out there to you guys for a little help. Some of the names I have seen that are pretty much taken but will give you a good idea are:
Doody Calls
The Pet Butler
Dirty Deeds
Scoopy Doo
K-9 Klean Up
Doogie Doo removal
This is just to give you an idea what most others use for names as you dont want to cross the line of being a little too offensive. My goal is to get 30 customers in each county and clear $500 bucks a week after all bills are paid off. After deep consideration I think I may give it go as I think it will be a fun challenge trying to make this profitable.
