I made a wager on the yanks with Andy pitching and action on Texas before the line jumped. I only got paid the closing line which was like -200 or something. Am I getting fucked? Or is that how action bets are graded?

If you had "action", it's whatever the line was when you placed it. Can't move it after the pitching change.

Here's the rules from BetJamaica. They graded yours as "One specified pitcher."

  • Action - team against team, regardless of the starting pitcher.
  • Listed - both specified pitchers - if starting pitchers are not exactly as listed on wagering display board, and/or your ticket, your wager will be deemed "no action."
  • One specified pitcher - this is a wager on or against one specified pitcher, regardless of the other starting pitcher. (examples: "Boston versus Helling" for a wager against or "Helling against anyone for Boston" for a wager on) Note: in the event there is a pitching change prior to the game, money odds may be adjusted. If one scheduled pitcher starts against an unscheduled pitcher, "action" wagers will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher. A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.
  • If a game goes past 9 innings and is not completed (ie. suspended, curfew, rain delay, etc.) there is action on the game total and runline wagers.
  • Las Vegas rules apply in the event of unusual or unmentioned situations.

I had andy listed and action on millwood, so they are right in only paying me -200?

That's different. They did the right thing then.

In the definition for choosing one specified pitcher up top...

If one scheduled pitcher starts against an unscheduled pitcher, "action" wagers will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher.

That means, the first line out, for the new pitching matchup is what your bet gets adjusted to.

So what is the purpose of a action bet if you don't get the line you bet it at?

Thanks for the info btw

Because you would have an advantage over the book. You could lock in a price when you know one pitcher is going for certain and another might not. The only way to lock in a price regardless of a pitching change is action for both sides.
