Do you get a check from WU? Yes, but you can cash it there on the spot. If the amount is high and/or you dont know how much volume it may be best to call and see if they will accomodate you

How much trouble do the tellers give you? Again this depends on the location. Ive been in some locations and its a breeze and some you go to and they act like they are doing you a favor and then there are others that happen to have the computer down between the hours of 6-9 pm even though the hours of 9 AM - 9 PM. Its kind of a crap shoot in that regards.

Any other tips? May want to break the withdrawals below a dime it may not draw a red flag. Search Western Union and you should get some hits and which this subject has been broached on many occasions

The place I go to does not cash the checks for you. I always keep it under a dime. I then take the checks to my bank and cash them. Never a problem.

when I withdrew $3000, they gave me check since they didn't have that much money... ppl on the forum recommended me not to withdraw more than $1000 since they will ask you many questions...I withdraw $1000 couple weeks ago and they gave me cash....so anything under 1000, you should be able to get a cash right at the spot.
