Well, I was involved in a lawsuit and the jury reached their decision today and not surprisingly it was in favor of the defendant. Which means that I will owe attorney costs and expert fees, which would total around $50K. I am doomed.

Damn, should have taken their settlement offer three years ago but my lawyer convinced me that we could win in court. Now he wants $10K in retainer fees so he can defend me from the defendant's lawyer from filing motions to get me to pay for their fees. Fuck America, fuck lawyers and fuck the "justice" system!!!!!!!!

Yep, the justice system is bullshit. Don't pay them anything and hide money.

Can't get blood out of a turnip. They are just trying to fuck you. 50K for "expert" fees and some dim witted asttorney who is OK losing. I don't think so.

Tell that attorney to get the fuck out of town because you will stop at nothing to hurt him, his wife, and his kids. Let him file a restaining order against you. it will be your excuse not to pay

Wow, your situation sounds really awful, but please don't follow the above advice.

What is your situation re: insurance?

sacrifice a year. 2 full time jobs with a weekend gig with no experience should get you at least 50k. if you got experience id assume you could make way more.

Thanks. Well, situation is I might have to file bankruptcy if the judge grants defense's motion for attorney fees.... unless I hit a 20 game parlay! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Did you sign a contract with your lawyer about a payment?

If you didn't you can pay your lawyer off over the next ten years, more then likely, with no possible problems.

Now you can attempt to not pay the other lawyer in a lump sum but he could seek legal action if he would like. You would win that case because when it comes to paying court fee's for someone else, you can spread the payments out over ten years but......... you are risking paying more money so beware of that.

Another rant: American justice system is bullshit.... when you got bunch of people who don't want to serve jury duty and you got the defense lawyer telling them that if they vote in favor of the defendant, they can go home and not have to serve anymore. that's just total BULLSHIT. I mean who wouldn't find in favor of the defense?
