Whether the Warriors play Houston or Utah, do you think they will be a favorite to win the series?

yes

if they dont start out as favs, enough bandwagon jumpers will now be betting on golden state that they will eventually be the favs in every single game they play in the next series.

why would golden state be favored against either team? take a step back and be rational.

nothing wrong with backing golden state, thats for damn sure.
theyre playing outstanding.

but are they better than either team? no.

can they win a series against utah or houston? of course.

but why would they be favored?

I don't disagree with you. But GS was better than Dallas. At least for these 6 games they were. GS is going to get a shitload of action in the next series, and with good reason.

Just like Charles is saying right now on TV......momentum is real, and GS is playing out of their minds right now. Their confidence level is out of this world.

heres an interesting question.

if you matched dallas/golden state up for a rematch starting tomorrow, what would you set the series line at?

obviously dallas -1100 was egregious.

but id still have to put dallas as probably a -300/-350ish chalk in a new 7-game series.

i dont doubt for a second that gstate could beat utah. i have major doubts about houston because gstate has no answer for yao and the rockets also have a big time perimeter player that wont choke. but thats neither here nor there. gstate could definitely give both utah or houston a damn good series. maybe even win it.

but win or lose, there is no way gstate can possibly be favored. it wouldnt make sense.

Yeah, you'd definitely have to make Dallas a heavy favorite. -300 sounds about right. But they got manhandled in this series.

Golden State just beat the best team in the league (atleast record wise)

How could they not be favored maybe like -160 or more to win the Series before any games are played. Public perception on GS is at its all time high. Books will be getting a ton of action on the Warriors. If you measuring them by there 42-40 record as shown in this series they are not what their records shows b/c of all the reasons people have said many times. Perception of the Rockets and Utah is not very high, there is not a lot of media attention on this series. They are both have become low scoring defensive teams espcially Houston. If Golden State gets Houston theres no way in hell the Rockets will be able to run with GS.

Not sure what basketball games you have been watching. Golden St. is far better than Utah or Houston. That being said, they will be a dog as they don't have the home court. Would not bet against the Warriors winning any series the rest of the way.

... and san antonio cant run with phoenix right?

who is guarding yao again?

forget that though. its not the point. ok so public perception is at an all time high for golden state. for the sake of the argument, lets agree on that.

do you know how ridiculous a golden state chalk line would be?

home teams have dominated in the houston/utah 4/5 series.

just because the nba has a cinderalla and a good team to market doesnt mean vegas is going to feel all giddy and make golden state a sentimental favorite.

lets have a re-do of the series. let both teams play another best-of-7. ill grab golden state at +300, +350, whatever you wanna give me. here's the fact: avery johnson has seen golden state PLENTY of times during the regular season and this playoff series. and he hasn't figured out a way to adjust his defense to stop them. golden state still plays the way they want, and dallas has no answers. what would make you think they could win the series if they had a chance to play it again tomorrow? be rational and step back for a second.

67-15 means shit if you cant execute in the playoffs. dallas will remembered for losing in the 1st round to a better team.

its alright, let prodigy keep being a blind dallas homer. he bet on them heavily for the game and 2nd half and he's blowing off some steam cuz he's still got the dirk nowitski sunglasses on. take off the shades man, golden state beat dallas by double digits in every single home game and one in dallas, take it like a man

in my time on the forum, ive seen some bizarre and completely ridiculous posts.

but being called a 'blind dallas homer' might take the cake.

its just a comment from left field that doesnt even make sense.

do you even think before you post?

c'mon man. at least put some thoughts into your posts.

Golden State is a better team than their record can you agree on that?

Just because Golden St didn't have a great season record and when you compare Utah and Houston they have better records doesnt mean anything.

Golden St won a game in Dallas you realize how hard that is? Only 5 other teams won a game all season In Dallas and 2 of those wins game early in the season when the Mavericks werent playing well.

You say the Warriors not having home court will be a reason not to make them a favorite? The Warriors beat Houston on the road a few weeks ago.

Assuming the Rockets win since they are favorites how are they going to be able to Guard Richard, Davis, Jackson and Ellis. They don't have the speed to guard them.

I hope the Warriors arent a favorite b/c I will be betting them.

... now youve just re-posted the same thing you posted 10 minutes ago.

theres a reason that a lot of posters lay low and dont visit forums during the football offseason.

for whatever reason, the new posters that come along during basketball and baseball season seem to be mental midgets.

do you realize you just called someone from ohio a dallas homer? does that even make sense to you? if you are older than 20, you should be ashamed.

should the bulls be favored over the pistons?
following your logic, they should be.

honestly, im not even sure if the most die hard of golden state fans would agree with you that they should be favored in their next series. the warriors are an exciting but flawed team that can be totally exposed one night ... but also capable of beating anyone in the league in a given series as well.

the warriors are the most dangerous team in the nba right now.
that doesnt mean that theyre better than houston or deserving of laying chalk though.
