Quick Derby Payout Question

I wagered $1,000 on the Derby and won $2,300 so I was paid out $3,300. Had a wager on the Yankees $1,500 to win $500 [money line Wang]. As soon as the Yankees game won I was short $1,000. I looked back and the only explanation I have is the $1,000 from the derby was not paid when I check my account activity. Am I crazy or should I be getting every last dollar? They don't keep that $1,000 right? I don't play horses often but come on!

Just want to verify I'm not nuts before I make a big deal about this. Thanks in advance.

i am lost as well,you say you bet a 1000 and won 2300,did you have a 1000 to show on the #7,that would get you back 2300 for a 1300 profit

Apologies for the confusion...yes I had 1000 to show on the #7. That's a $1300 profit? I thought at $4.60 for 500 $2 tickets that's a $2,300 profit? Should you bet $1,000 on a basketball team you get the money you wagered back plus the win. The $4.60 includes your wager in the payback as well? Like I said I don't play the horses...fill me in?

horse prices include the stake, horses can return $2.20 to show, a win of 20 cents.

newbie here, just registered.

Your book has your balance correct, it would be a $1300 profit, not a $2300 profit.

The formula would be 500 x $4.60 = $2300 but you bet $1000 so your profit is $1300 dollars.

The wager amount was included in the above formula.
