ok, first off, im not trying to break the bank or go crazy, just give myself a slight edge. After some practice I think I am pretty good (not perfect, but not bad). I went to the casino today and was up 200 playing 10 a hand and then went into about a solid 2 hours of - shoes and ended up only about 40 or so.

Im looking for 2 things, A. any website that can help me learn even better, B. casinos in vegas that offer lower than 6 shoes OR good comps when playing 5-25 BJ

Thanks guys:money8:

Does card counting work at all anymore? I thought they eliminated the advantage when they stopped using full decks.

Eliminating cards reduces the advantage. You do not know what cards are removed decreases the accuracy of the count

Play basic strategy try to keep track of faces, aces and fives.
Why fives?
The five is the dealers best friend, and can make any stiff.
Dealer must hit on 12-16, stand on 17, and the five is the only card that'll do the trick.

I don't understand. With basic (non-counting) strategy, doesn't the house have the advantage?
What is money management?

In the past they used to deal every card in the deck. But now they only do 70% or so before reshuffling. That makes card counting almost useless because you don't know what cards are out of play.

Thanks for the tip guys, even though they dont deal out the entire shoe, wouldnt it be nice to know when their was an overload of high cards? Yesterday In one shoe I was sitting on double digit counts for almost half a deck. Playing 10 a hand I ended up raising my bet up to 25 at one point (of course I got an 11 and had to make it 50, hit the 21!) and cleaned house in the one shoe.

too small for much more than drinks, maybe a cheap buffet at a non-strip place. $5 minimum is not that easy to find.

doug I think he means something like this

you bet a green chip. you get dealt 20. you slide a black chip under your green chip while the dealer is dealing to other players at your table

obvouisly if they catch you, they wont find this very funny

that's outright cheating, very hard to do anywhere, even if you were very talented.

I saw a guy on travel channel, former magician I think, demonstrating it. he was very smooth.

worked like this. at a doubledeck game where you have to pick up your cards. if you see a 20, tuck the cards. then a couple seconds later pretend to re-check your cards to make sure you saw your hand right.

when he rechecked, he had the blackchip in his palm and he could slide it under theother chip very quickly and not noticably, then tuck the cards again.

he made a lot of money, claimed he was never caught. he had other tricks too.

yes, thats very illegal and ballsy. I certainly wouldnt try shit like that

you'd have to have been playing some occasional black chips, maybe a pro cheat could do it once or twice and exit quickly. Camera would catch it.Bosses watch black (chip) players.
