Question about tipping dealers. Do you tip the dealer....

A. Always, no matter what im tipping (if you choose this I would be curious to know if you play poker and if you play poker, do you tip even when you lose a hand or not in the hand)

B. I always tip when im ahead

C. I tip when my session is over, depending on if im up or down

D. I dont tip period. Its not my fault that casinos bring in over a million a day, yet they dont pay their dealers fairly.

I voted don't tip, but that's because I rarely play table games, and when I do it's $5-$10 per hand blackjack. Not big enough action to warrent tipping.

Only time i've ever tipped is one time in the Bahamas when the dealer was paying me out on some losing hands. THAT guy was doing me a service worth tipping.

I always throw them something regardless. When I am ahead I usually give more depending how far up I am. When I get loaded I am very laxed with the chips and start giving chips to other players when I get good paying hands especially in Caribbean Poker....

As a former bartender/server/mover I am one who does tip well, especially if the service is good. However, as far as tipping when im losing, I just cant bring myself to do it, even though I know it has nothing to do with the dealer. However, if im up OR im playing poker I will tip (I always tip in poker when I win a hand).

Always play $5 for them if I'm ahead. But always tip when I get flush, straight or better at 4 card poker.

I tip if I hit a good hand (Let it Ride) or hit a number hard (roulette). A good twist to this is how often do you tip the slot attendant after you hit a hand payed jackpot. It drives me nuts.

Anyone who does their job well, and who does it nicely.

If a place is just full of people with terrible customer service, of course I'm not tipping them.

Also, if one person really pisses me off and the tips are pooled, sorry...no tips are coming there.

It pains me to tip poker dealers but when I rake a hand I will tip.

It pains me because between the two blinds, the house rake and tipping the dealer, who's really making any money for the privalige of playing poker?

Tip those that provide service. The better the service, the better the tip. As I see it, the majority at the casino who provide a sevice get tipped. The dealers are actually at the bottom of my list. The casino should take some of it's millions dollars in profits and pay these guy better.

What gets me is when they expect a tip. Going to the casino with $500, and after the weekend, if you come back with $500 you broke out even right ?
Not! Because you tip the dealers all weekend long, you actually were giving away your winnings.

I always remember that scene from Reservoir Dogs about tipping. F'in Classsic.

Rude, im kinda starting to lean in your direction to be honest.

I had a dealer yesterday that was very pushy about tips, I was kinda shocked. One guy was playing a dollar every couple hands for the dealer and this guy was going out of his way to announce it to everyone at the table and went out of his way to try to make you feel guilty. Once he started that crap he was getting nothing out of me

I agree about service, however, are dealers doing you a service by trying to take your money? Although they are providing entertainment which at times you tip for (hookers, ummm what else), are they really providing the entertainment or is the actual casino.

When playing BJ, I usually put up 1-2 dollars every 20 hands or so, and play it for the dealer so they are part of the hand as well. They seem to like that better then just throwing a buck at them every now and then.

.

I didn't know the cards dealt themselves and payed the players.

I guess when at a restaurant - the restaurant as well is the entertainment etc.
