Swore I would never get suckered into paying to see MW after his last fight..Got caught up in the hoopla and ordered this one..

For all the noteriety this fight was a failure..You could have bet this fight last year..Seldom are odds up so far in advance of a boxing match..You can watch a better fight on any Friday night of the week on ESPN2, Telefutura or Telemundo..Can bet these fights too at places like 5 Dimes..

For the price the undercard was trash..HBO`s Letterman is an idiot, Lennox Lewis an overated commentator, Jim Lampley is cool but Larry Merchant`s hypnotic comments can put you into a trance..Delahoya was the aggressor the entire fight.MW punched him once or twice and RAN ALL NIGHT LONG like a nickel bag vendor reaching in a car window on a drug street corner..He was on his tip toes running back before he even finished his punch...For all the hype..This fight did not live up to expectations..

Oscar is older and has not fought much in years. Floyd is moving up in weight and the question was can Floyd handle the weight? He surely is not at his best being bigger...almost nobody is. Oscar is older and past his prime. He is not at his best. This in no way was two fighters at their peak. Completely overrated. Hey maybe it could have been great fight and everyone would have been happy. Oscar is a very good fighter but he has been a media darling aka Mexican hero/good looking/pretty boy etc etc. Ray Leonard or Roberto Duran he is NOT. No way. Floyd is special but again he had to put on weight and never fought the great ones to give him that special zone to be in. THe media built it up and itworked but no way is the the makings of the greatest fight in history.

What would make anyone believe this fight was to be an alltime fight?

One of the worst fights I've seen for a long time. One fighter chased the other for 12 fvking rounds, there probably less than 5 "clean" punches a whole fight.

Biggest fight of the year my arse.

Call me crazy, but I thought DLH should have won. There were several rounds I thought should have gone to Oscar that went the other way.

Then again, I was drunk and had money on DLH, so that may have something to do with it. LOL

I'll say it again, it was a good fight. If you bet a fight and have to sweat the scoring it is a good fight. I bet Mayweather and thought it was a coin flip at the end. I could easily see the judges giving it to Delahoya based on all the suspicious decisions you get in Las Vegas.

Thats boxing for you.

That sport is so far out of mainstream these days. how many damn titles are there? Are there ever any knockouts anymore?

WWE is more mainstream than professional boxing. MMA is too.

Watching an average 12 round boxing match is just boring. A few punches here and there. For the average fan, you can't even tell when someone lands something, then they hug a l;ittle and dance around a little more.

I what a knockout or I don't want to watch

I'm in the same boat. Yeah-I was rather lit up, but I must have seen a different fight than the announcers. They made it sound like a PBF beat down. I'll watch it again sometime when I'm bored & want something to be pissed off about, but I thought that DLH won the fight.

You can't win fights by running, and that's what he did. Sick.

I watched the fight also and didn't see it as one sided as the announcers did....but just about how the judges scored it....Split decision Mayweather was the right call.......If you took a look at the numbers PBF killed Oscar...I now everytime they wrapped up Oscar started hitting , but those shots with one hand tied up do nothing, except excite the crowd....From a boxing point of view Floyd "outboxed" oscar with relative ease....from a public perception it was about equal...and yes that DOES count...that why the split decision, but i don't think Oscar or any "expert" would say Oscar was robbed...hell PBF power punch numbers were incredible.......Rematch????

I was not drunk and did not place a wager on the fight, but watched every second of it. After watching all 12 rounds I woulda called it a draw. MW won some rounds, DLH won some rounds, DLH was the aggressor all night, but MW did hit him with a couple of solid shots. Neither boxer was hurt at all. There faces looked exactly like they did before the fight. Piss poor fight for the average fan. The last ten seconds of the fight was more exciting then the entire fight.

After thinking Delahoya won, I expected a draw decision too ( +1400 ?)...The announcer confused the crowd and tv viewers in his deliverance of the decision..This one left a bad taste in my mouth..I also think Delahoya and MW are closer than people think and built up a dislike for one another as part of their show..6 weeks of HBO specials for this fight?..Everyone got screwed last night..at least they should have added a decent undercard for people to get their $s worth..This was a bunch of BS.And the commentators were way too fav of the runner MW

God I hope the rematch looks like the last 10 seconds of this fight. When De La Hoya started dancing around in the 7th or 8th I thought ¨OK now he feels confident and he going to finish him off¨ and then he just pooped out in the 10th and I said to myself fuck he started going over the numbers in a rematch and said what the hell and played the role.......I hope he beats Mayweather down the next fight in the first 3 rounds for talking so much shit. BOY is mayweather going to talk shit now!!!!

The undercard might not of been big names but I really enjoyed those fights.
Both those fights had over under of 7.5 rounds and the 2nd one was over 7.5 +130

I had the favorite in the 1st and was super nervous having laid -375 and seeing such a close bout.

The second fight I got a bet matched late at the dog getting +1100
The fight was even going into the 10th round, and had he not been knocked down in round 2 I think Hernandez might of been given some of those closer rounds and probably wouldn't of needed to fight so sloppy going for the KO in the 12th.

It was a good close fight and even closer than the score cards reflected IMO.

The 1st two fights were entertaining anyways. I thought the main event was a "Decent fight" but not good or great. I'm just glad the 1st two fights were decent to watch.

You sure have that one correct ... Of course the Pride is now the UFC. I work about 2 blocks from where Randy Couture has his Gym here in Vegas and you can drop in anytime and He would be glad to talk to you or sign a picture etc and of course... no charge ! If anyone was at the Liddell/Couture fight when Randy lost.... Randy was out in the crowd after the fight posing for pictures and signing Autographs ! Could you imagine that happening in boxing ?

boxing has been a real joke for many years, most gets sucked into the hype, I would pay more to see the local ladies play some tennis down the road.:niceass:
