Not looking for any comments, just want a place to keep my record for the remainder of the month. My 2007 has been filled mostly with system play, of which ive posted a lot here..

NBA ML Dogs (+8.92 units)
MLBX ML Dogs (+11.05 units)
MLB 2007: (-23.03 units)

Banishment Plays: (5 unit Play)(0-1)(-6.40 units)

and ive had a few other posted plays in the NBA or baseball, around 5 more, of which ive lost 3 and won 2......

Not looking for any competition or followers, just want to see if i can still just basically selectively Handicap games again.

Hope i have around 60 plays per month..

Good Luck to everyone and feel free to fade away..

Plays in this thread.

1. Clev/Balt over 9.5 (-1.10) Local. BetJam has (-1.20) (One unit)

Indians: 17-9 to the over this season.
Indians over: 9-2-1 in last 12 following a win.
Indians over: 16-5-1 in last 22 monday games.
Over is 4-1 in baltimores last 5 monday games.
Over is 6-1 in last 7 meetings in Balt.

In saying this, im sure it will go under..

May have 1 or 2 more later today.

I just cant believe you are leaving your system.

You said you were going to give it $5000. You only lost $2300.
You have $2700 left.

Quit taking the attitude of defeat and see what this thing can do over the long term.

Well, thats even more reason to keep playing your system.

The dogs are soon to start paying. It happens every year.

SSI,

Did you back test the system and if so, how far back? If you did, I imagine the results were positive otherwise you wouldn't have played it.

Thus, assuming back testing and positive results, why quit? Was anything different (other than losses) this year than back testing?

fhemq: the back testing was good, very positive. i also realize that if i can hit 57-58% against a (-1.10) spread, thats all i need to do. i have not devoted any time to simply handicapping in a rather long time and wish to prove to myself (only) that i can still do it.

Im constantly torn between "Selective Handicapping" and developing the "Super System". When i Handicap, i can quickly eliminate alot of the plays and save myself time... Basically i need to see, if i can still Cap... I just want to look at 60 plays and see if i can go (35-25).. If i can, simply try and repeat. Nothing more.

Looks as though the Indians got motivated, while i napped this afternoon and put enough runs on the board to send the game Over the total and put me into the win column.

Thread Record: 1-0 (+1.00)

2 plays tonight.

2. Astro's (-1.25) Local.

3. Warriors +4 (-1.10) most everywhere.

Warriors 16-3 in last 19 as a dog (ATS)
Warriors 22-6 (ATS) in last 28
Warriors 6-2 (ATS) in last 8 monday games.
Warriors 11-1 (ATS) in games that their opp scores 100 or more in previous game.

All this means nothing but if you watched the Warriors against Dallas, how can you not ride them again. Utah very tough at home, should be a good series.

Astros, pretty much even with Cincy, very much a play on Oswalt, who has dominated the Reds (18-1) career.

Astros 7-1 in Oswalts last 8 road starts against reds.
Astros 5-1 in last 6 meetings with reds.

Both plays for one unit, best of luck to everyone.

Looks like 2-0 on the first day, will drop the Push on Warriors from record. Oswalt improves to 19-1 against the reds but it wasnt easy. i probably was lucky on both wins and i have no idea how the 2nd half went with GST and Utah.

Ill be around later today, posting anywhere from 1-3 plays for tuesday.

Bear with me as this thread is much more for my benefit....... Just want to see how my first 60 games go,,,,,, in my return to "selective capping"...

Selective Capping: 2-0 (+2.00 units) (Plays in this thread)

Continuing on today (tues) with selective capping, hoping its a good day. Getting off to a good start is so very important for the mental side of this. I actually have a chart laid out, numbered 1-60 and will simply fill the plays into that chart as they are placed.

Ive been in this business, almost with no interruptions since august of 1986, pre computer days........ Capping for me, is more about eliminating games...... In a few words, i try to find reasons not to make the play, instead of reasons to make it......

Im merely looking for 1-3 of what i consider the best plays daily.. If nothing else, i may possibly be a really good fade........

Plays for tuesday: may 8.

3. Atl/SD over 9.5 (-1.10)(Local) (betjam has -1.15 at the moment)

My local has (-1.10) for all totals, good guy that he is.

More or Less the play is about 2 rookie pitchers going tonight, both called up to make the start in the Show......

Over is 9-2-2 in SD last 13 as a dog.
Over is 9-2 in Atl's last 11 following a loss.
Over is 37-16-3 in Atl's last 56 against NL west.
Over is 6-1 in braves last 7 tues games.
Over is 7-1-1 in SD last 9 --- following a game in which they gave up 2 or fewer runs.

In saying that, we still are betting that one of these kids blows up tonight.

all plays for one unit.

may add one later......

adding one more play for tuesday.

4. NJ/Clev over 181 (-1.10) most everywhere now...

all plays for one unit.

quite honestly this number is about 4pts too low.

NJ has played under this number twice in its last 10 and Clev has played under this number 4 times in its last 10.

Over is 6-0-1 in Clev last 7 tues games.
Over is 9-4 in Clev last 13 vs Atl. division.
Over is 17-7 in NJ last 24 following a SU loss.

No matter what you say, they still have to shoot better to get here. Game 1 was not there, maybe game 2 makes it.......

Still looking at all late games........ possibly one more play today......

Mets 12-5 on road/Giants 11-8 at home.

2 good starters, i like Glavine more.

Recap of tuesdays entire card:

3. atl/sd over 9.5 (-1.10)
4. NJ/Clev over 181 (-1.10)
5. Mets (+1.05)

Tuesday ended with a 2-1 mark, pushing my return to handicapping to:

4-1 (+2.95 units) (record in this thread)...

Like ive said before, this thread is merely a test for myself, to see if i can still hit in the (57-58%) range when capping.........

I hope to have around 60 posted plays in this thread by the end of the month and my goal is to go: 35-25 (against a -1.10 line)... i dont know if i can do it but if i can, ill try and repeat the process in a thread for June..

early play for wednesday May 9th.

6. Mets/Giants under 9 (-1.10) Local, i think its a little higher most places but my local uses (-1.10).....

really hoping Maine can continue to mow batters down and Morris can have another solid outing.

You can read your favorite writeup at various places and i dont really like doing them...

mets are 32-13 to the under in their last 45 as a favorite, not a bad little stat to look at......

Ill have 1-2 more plays for the night games...... best of luck to everyone.

merely trying to stay focused now..... most of you know me as a guy who plays a lot of systems but for years, i was merely a capper.......... and in years past, a pretty good one........ I used to be at my best, when i capped on a very limited basis...... I tended to do better, when i played fewer games for larger amounts....... Can i still do it? thats what im trying to find out.......

rounding out wednesdays card..

7. Oakland (-1.23) betjam
8. Det/Sea over 9.5 (-1.05) betjam

both for one unit......

Im not good at writeups and dont like doing them but Oak has won 20 of last 23 at Kaufmann stadium and do have Haren going tonight..... I like Meche but i like Haren more......

the tigers have been smoking, lets hope their bats stay hot.....

summary of selective handicapping entering today: 4-1 (+2.95 units)

todays entire card:

6. mets/giants under 9 (-1.10)
7. Oakland (-1.23)
8. tigers/mariners over 9.5 (-1.05)

no additions today, all plays for one unit......

really nice to get off to a 5-1 start..... mets/giants slide under the total today...... will stick with only 2 night games and continue to fill in my chart..

I knew getting off to a good start was crucial to the mental aspect of selective handicapping...... Its still a very long way to 60 plays so im by no means feeling comfortable yet...... Take it day by day and remain focused. note to self.....

Selective Capping (record in this thread): 6-2 (+3.72 units)

goal is to go: 35-25 monthly.........

Plays for thursday: May 10

9. Tigers/Mariners over 9 (-1.20) betjamaica (my local had 9.5)

10. TB/Balt over 9 (-1.10) Local, think its (-1.15) at betjam.

2 plays are pretty much self-explanatory....... playing against weaver and then playing against fossum, not thrilled with carbrera for balt either..

ill add a night game later today....... both plays for one unit.....

adding for thursday: may 10.

11. Bulls/Pistons under 184.5 (-1.10) Local.

pistons: 45-18 to the under, in last 63 games they have been a dog.

doesnt mean crap but if the bulls want back in the series, its going to start with playing some D......... cannot let the pistons score anywhere close to 100 tonight.......

recap of entire card for thusday may 10..

Selective Handicapping: 6-2 (+3.72 units)

plays for thursday: may 10.

9. tigers/mariners over 9 (-1.20)
10. orioles/drays over 9 (-1.10)
11. bulls/pistons under 184.5 (-1.10)

all for one unit.......

its good to return to normal capping..... simply trying to remain focused, go 35-25 and increase bankroll...... i do not need anything more.....
