Has anyone obtained a patent or applied for one?

I'd like to obtain patents on some ideas/inventions. How do I go about it and how much would it cost?I actually came up with a great idea several years ago, but procrastinated..... and now heard that Mercedes is coming out with it. Probably could've made millions had I patented it. Damn.

I know what you mean about procrastinating. When Hummer came out with the original Hummer, then a few years later the H2.... I thought, I should patent the H3.

Now look what happened. They beat me to it and I probably could've made millions. Damn.
