I have a Escalade that I have that just went over 50k miles and I want to get out of it before it falls apart. I am in a different financial position now also than I was in 4 years ago when I bought it new, so I am buying used, but still want a "nice" ride and I want it to be a car. Looking in the 20-30 k area and was thinking about getting a Chrysler 300, but now considering the CTS, does anyone have a opinion on them?

dude 20-30k for a used cts is inasane. Most caddy owners take great care of their cars so you can easily find a creampuff cts that has 70k miles or something for around 10to 15 max at an auction.

I have a wholesale dealer license and caddys are a cinch to steal at auctions.

you would recommend that over a 05 cts with 18k miles and 10k less? I have never had a Lexus so I really dont know.

CTS is a very nice ride. My next door neighbor/buddy just got a semi-used one (15K miles or so), and it is NICE.

That said, I am quite partial to the new Nissan Maxima's.

Lexus rocks. By far the best luxury car out there. They can easily go 300k miles with reg maintenance. Plus they have the best resale value.

I just picked the ad with the most pictures.... go to autotrader.com and look for ones in your area. Should find cheaper ones.

Also check out the GS300, it's essentially the same as GS430, except it's I-6 225hp instead of V8 300hp. But much cheaper.

I"ve been driving a CTS for over 2 years now and I will buy another one. Solid car and fun to drive. Also a lot cheaper than a Lexus. But they are changing the body style in 08 so I wouldn't buy a new 07 as you will take a hit on it when the new body style comes out.

Cadillac Northstar with some candy paint and nice rims, oh and a killer sound system.

That would make a nice cruiser ride.

For any everyday driver, in the Cadillac category, I would have to side with the Cadillac Deville, a newer one.

Second the vote on either of the Lexus GS sedans. I was just testing them out a couple of months ago. The 400/430 models have lots of oomph and are a thrill to ride. The 300 is much cheaper to insure and is available in AWD unlike the V8. Aside from that they are practically identical and even the cost of a decent used one is not that much difference between the two. Like pretty much anything else made by Toyota in the last forty years they are all but impossible to kill. Unfortunately the GS is marketed to single male "playa" market, so the odds of finding a good condition off lease model are much lower than those of finding say an LS model in that condition.
