it has NOT been confirmed. It just looks bad for now. Lets not overreact based on circumstantial evidence.

Suspected is the better word. If the mods can please remove confirmed from the title and replace with Suspected. Really poor damage control by FTP as they are not responding publically regarding the allegations.

Well, its definitely not looking good. I would bet that these guys are using bots. Personally, i don't really care but i am more worried about the public losing confidence in online poker.

It will be interesting to see what FTP has to say. And i agree that it is very troublesome that FTP has not responded as of yet. But i am sure they will at some point.

I am pro poker bots, see nothing wrong with those. Being an android, I do not discriminate against an intelligence in any form. It is not that I use one since it is explicitly prohibited but I am for "legalizing" them.

Wesley: Captain, I have to talk to you about Data's strange behavior.

Picard: Shut up, Wesley.

Does that help?

Damn that thread is 20 pages long and its only been up a few days....wow

Online Casino Games are rigged...all of them IMO. Poker is no different and I have always had a feeling that Bots are to the Casnos advantage as long as no one had proof then the $$ would keep comming in...guess maybe its now time for a new scandal and this one is about Poker.

you need therapy bro. That seriously was one of the weirdest posts I've read here.

On another note, I'm not surprised at all regarding these allegations at FTP.

Dear xxxxxxxx

We are aware of the several BOT Poker Programs in the market that are designed to allow a program to play poker. These programs run independently on a player's computer and so there is no foolproof method to detect and prevent their usage completely. They are designed to play poker as a human, therefore it is not possible to detect a BOT program through the game play.

Our principle aim has always been to provide a safe and fair gaming environment. On this we will not compromise.

We are committed to detect and prevent software programs such as these from playing on our site. Such programs are often designed to send information about cards or players to an external program.

We prohibit this practice at our site and will use all necessary methods.(including but not limited to, screen scraping or reading the list of currently running programs on a player's computer)

It should be noted that although BOTs are frowned upon because they are computer programs they actually play poker at a level that is considered below average to that of a human player.

NOTE: Your Account username and password are confidential information. No one from the company will ever ask for your password in a phone call or email. Do not respond to any requests that ask for your password.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
