MLB Tampa Bay vs. BaltimoreTake Baltimore Orioles Tampa Bay lost in Baltimore yet again on Wednesday and the way it lost culminates the way it has been at Camden Yards for some time now. The Devil Rays ruined a great pitching performance from James Shields as the offense could not plate a run in 10 innings. Tampa Bay has now dropped 23 of the last 31 meetings in Baltimore including five straight. The Devil Rays have now scored three runs or less in five straight games and have scored more than five runs once in their last 13 games. Casey Fossum pitched brilliant in his last outing but expect a letdown here. He threw that last game in honor of Josh Hancock who was a former teammate and roommate so the focus won’t be nearly as strong this time around. Fossum has struggled on the road throughout his career as he is 13-26 with a 5.77 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in 82 career road starts. His last road outing this year resulted in nine runs in five innings at Oakland. He has a ridiculous 1.70 career WHIP at Camden Yards. Daniel Cabrera was excellent in his last outing against the Indians and he should carry that right over into this game. He allowed one run on just three hits in seven innings of work. He was efficient and his pitch counts per batter were down and that is the one thing that makes him successful. Carrying that momentum helps when facing a team with confidence when pitching against as he has owned the Devil Rays, going 3-0 with a 2.79 ERA in seven career starts, five of which were Baltimore wins. The recent line of Fossum sets the Orioles up in a solid situation. Play on American League home favorites with a money line of -150 or more that are averaging 4.7 rpg or less on the season going up against a starting a pitcher who gave up one or less earned runs last outing. This situation is 68-15 against the moneyline (81.9 percent) since 1997 with the average run differential being +2.4 in those 83 games. The line is higher than what I like so it’s a small play but one that should be easy. Play Baltimore Orioles 1 Unit
Big Al McMordie
MLB San Francisco vs. ColoradoTake San Francisco Giants At 8:35 pm our complimentary selection is on the San Francisco Giants over the Colorado Rockies. It's no longer a question of whether Barry Bonds will break Hank Aaron's all-time home run record, it's simply of matter of when. A much bigger question is whether the Giants have enough other talent on their team to take them to the postseason. They recently brought up phenom pitcher Tim Lincecum from AAA where his numbers were almost unhuman, only to see Lincecum get hit pretty hard in an 8-5 loss to the Phillies in San Francisco. But the Giants should have an easier time of it tonight in Colorado, as the Rockies are in a bit of disarray right now. Righthander Aaron Cook goes to the mound for Colorado, and unfortunately, he has not fared well this season at his home park where he is 0-1 with a 6.50 ERA in 18 innings pitched. He also has not fared well against the Giants as Colorado has lost the last seven games versus San Francisco in which Cook has started. Giants lefthander Noah Lowry has been one the team's most consistent starters this season and he is undefeated in his last 3 starts (3-0). Finally, the Rockies best offensive player, outfielder Matt Holiday is listed as questionable tonight in this one. Take the Giants. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. Al McMordie's 5* Plays are legendary, and today, Big Al's UNLOADING on an AWESOME Baseball play that gets his HIGHEST RATING. It's Big Al's 5* Major League Baseball Game of the Month, and it's supported by a 20-5 stat. Get ready to make the BIGGEST SCORE OF YOUR LIFE! Jump on board right now.

MLB Boston vs. TorontoTake Boston Red Sox The Blue Jays did well against the Red Sox last year, winning 12 of 19 games, including a 7-3 mark at the Rogers Centre. However, Boston has taken the first two games of this three-game series in Toronto by scores of 9-2 and 9-3, giving them four wins in seven meetings with the Blue Jays in 2007. The Blue Jays are a mess right now, having lost eight in a row but do send Roy Halladay to the mound. However, the Red Sox will counter with Tim Wakefield, who has bounced back from a injury-marred 2006 season in which he made just 23 starts (7-11, 4.63), by posting a 2.11 ERA in his six starts of 2007. Halladay is off a terrible outing in his last start, allowing nine runs and 12 hits in just 5.1 innings. Because of the Halladay 'name,' Toronto is a sizeable favorite in this game and that just doesn't make sense, considering the Red Sox own the AL's best record at 22-10. Take Boston
TOM FREESE FREE PICK
Bonus Play: Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs Baltimore OriolesBaltimore starter Daniel Cabrera has good numbere against Tampa Bay going 5-2 in 7 career team starts with a 2.79 ERA. Cabrera has allowed 4 or less runs in 6 of his 7 starts. Tampa Bay starter Casey Fossum has allowed 16 runs in his last 16.2 innings of work in his last 3 starts. Fossum is 2-11 in his last 13 team starts in May. Play On Baltimore - (Cabrera vs. Fossum) Tom Freese was 3-0 here yesterday. He looks for a repeat performance on Thursday with a a 5 Star Side Winner this afternoon. Tonight he has his 5 Star MLB GOW as well as a Huge 10 Star 'Total' Winner from the NBA Playoffs. Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Baltimore Orioles
Thursday, May 10th, 7:05 PM EDT
Soft-tossing D'Rays starter Fossum shows an 8.25 ERA in two road starts. Tampa Bay has gone over 10-of-14 on the road and is 19-10 OVER in all games this season including 10-1 OVER against division opponents. FOSSUM himself is 11-2 OVER against division opponents over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record) while BALTIMORE is 53-35 OVER when the total is 9 to 9.5 over the last 2 seasons.

974 TOR / 973 BOS Under 8.5
Analysis: The first two games of this series have been of the high-scoring variety. However, we should see some better pitching this evening. Wakefield has an excellent 1.78 ERA and 1.145 WHIP in four road starts. Not surprisingly, all four of those games finished below the total. Meanwhile, Halladay has seen all three of his home starts stay beneath the number while recording a miniscule 1.37 ERA and 0.760 WHIP. It's also worth mentioning that the UNDER is a perfect 4-0 when the Jays have been listed as home favorites in the -125 to -150 range. Consider a play on the UNDER

My free pick of the day is the game between (969) CLE Indians and (970) LA Angels. Take "(969) CLE Indians". A hot team against a cold one. There's a big difference in offenses with these two. In an uninspiring 5-1 loss to Cleveland, Indians lefty Cliff Lee needed only 102 pitches to carve up the Angels for a complete game three-hitter, sending the Angels to their third straight loss and fifth loss in six games. Angels Manager Mike Scioscia said, "We've been struggling to get guys on and get them in. Some of our guys have been pressing a bit." Indeed, the Angels are 10th in the AL in on-base percentage, rarely draw walks, and are second to last in home runs. The Indians have no such concerns, with an offense that is 3rd in OBP and homers. After getting shut down by one Cleveland lefty, they face another one here in Jeremy Sowers, who has a career 2.57 ERA against the Angels (14 IP). Play the Indians

PROPS Proposition 1 vs. Proposition 2Take Proposition 1 Special At this week’s The Players Championship, take Tiger Woods in the outright (5-2), 1/6 unit: Tiger hasn’t much been intimidated by Tiger-proofing courses. Take Adam Scott (25-1), 1/6 unit: He has a win this year, which was his problem last year: way too many near misses. Perhaps the win (at the Shell Houston Open) is still fresh. The Aussies seem intent on making a mark in the major tournaments this year. Take David Toms (80-1), 1/6 unit: Four top 10s this year, a nice sleeper pick. Has not played Sawgrass well over the years but the course is reportedly speedier, which might help a smooth putter like Toms.

MLB Chicago (A) vs. MinnesotaTake Chicago (A) White Sox With the way the White Sox have handled right-handed pitching (156-92) and have performed as a road dog (35-21) at this price the past three years, no reason to not play them today against the Twins. The Pale Hose also fit 41-21 angle as road dog when posted total is 8/8.5. Jose Contreras has been adequate 3-2 (3.72) against Minny while his counterpart Carlos Silva is just 4-7 with 5.75 ERA facing ChiSox. The Twins hitting just .244 at home and avgg less than four runs a game which won\'t bode well if Silva gets lit like he has in the past in this matchup. Take the White Sox
Marc Lawerence
MLB San Francisco vs. ColoradoTake San Francisco Giants San Francisco w/Lowry over Colorado w/Cook Giants open a four game set with the Rockies in Colorado this evening knowing Aaron Cook is 0-5 with a 5.40 ERA at home against San Francisco. With the Rockies 1-7 this season against southpaws, look for the Giants to win thie opener here tonight. GIANTS (With Lowry and Cook as listed pitchers)
Take the Giants tonight in Coors for the road win over the Rockies.
Noah Lowry gets the nod for San Francisco and he’s been hot over his last three starts, going 3-0 with a 3.93 ERA.
After dropping their last two games to the Mets at home I think you’ll see a more determined Giants lineup as they go against their division rivals tonight.
Aaron Cook will start for Colorado and he’s had his troubles with the Giants over the course of his career. Cook is just 2-6 with a 5.28 ERA against San Francisco and Mr. Barry Bonds has had his way against the Colorado right-hander.
Bonds is 11-for-23 against Cook with two doubles and a homerun. The left-handed hitting slugger has been streaking towards Hank Aaron’s career homerun mark and he finds himself leading the National League this year with 11 dingers.
Take the Giants as they grab the road win.
5 Dime –
TIGERS -1 ½ RUN LINE (With Weaver and Verlander as listed pitchers)
Take the Tigers on the run line this afternoon at home over the Mariners.
If the Tigers can’t beat the M’s by more than two runs today against Jeff Weaver they may have to reevaluate themselves.
Weaver continues to stink up the joint with every outing. He’s 0-5 on the year with a 15.35 ERA in five games. Detroit should be able to score early and often against the struggling right-hander and should cruise to the easy win behind Justin Verlander.
Verlander is 2-1 on the year with a 2.75 ERA in six games.
Take Detroit on the run line as they get it done big today at home over the Mariners.
Bonus Play: A's (For analysis watch the daily video posted in the Thursday TALK thread)

Larry Ness' Daytime Delight-MLB (13-5 L/10 days in MLB!)
My Daytime Delight is on the LA Angels at 3:35 ET. I have to respect the fact that the Indians are 17-5 vs right-handed starters this year but it's hard NOT to take a shot here against Jeremy Sowers of the Tribe. While the Angels rank 24th in runs scored (4.06/game), they should be able to get to Sowers. In his last outing (Saturday), he lasted just two innings vs the Orioles, allowing five hits and six ERs. He's yet to earn a win in six starts this season (0-2, 5.87), with the Indians going 2-4 in his starts. Meanwhile, LA's Kelvim Escobar has been very good. He made two early April starts going 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA but then went on the DL with some irritation in his shoulder. He returned to the rotation on April 24 and has shown no ill-effects. In his three most recent starts, he's 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA, as the Angels have won all three. The Angels have stumbled some lately but last night's comeback win (3-2), gives them a 13-6 home mark. Daytime Delight on the LA Angels
Big Al's 5* Major League Baseball Game of the Month
At 7:05 pm, our 5* Major League Baseball Game of the Month is on the Toronto Blue Jays with Roy Halladay over the Red Sox. The Blue Jays have dropped eight straight games, and the main culprit has been their pitching. Over this stretch, Toronto has surrendered 64 runs, or 8 a game. Halladay is partly to blame, as he was tagged for 9 runs and a career high-tying 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings last Saturday at Texas. But that was the first loss since August 31 of last season for the Blue Jay ace, and he is 1-0 with a 2.93 ERA vs. the Red Sox in two starts this season. Overall, last month, Halladay was 4-0 with a 2.28 ERA over 47 1/3 innings, and he was named American League Pitcher of the Month. Over his last 25 home decisions, Halladay is 20-5, and his mound opponent, Tim Wakefield, has a 4.51 career ERA at Rogers Centre. I expect another dominant performance by Halladay tonight. Take the Jays.

Hondo Lost With the Giants Yesterday
Same old Benitez. The Giant closer opened the door for a Metamucil victory yesterday, which sent Hondo to his third straight defeat and caused the earnings to tumble to 590 maglies.
Today, he'll take a wild stab with Weaver and the M's against the Tigers and a more controlled stab with Sowers and the Tribe against the Angels. Ten units apiece.

Indians at Angels
Prediction: Angels
Angels right-hander Kelvim Escobar was one of the least fortunate pitchers in all of baseball last year. He was plagued by a lack of run support and consistently awful defense. This season, those breaks are evening-out a bit, and now that's he's apparently healthy, Escobar has been worth backing. I'll take my chances with the tough Venezuelan here and go with the Angels to top the Indians.

Game: Cleveland at L A Angels (3:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: L A Angels -132
The Angels have played very well at home and Kelvim Escobar has a 5-3, 3.78 record against the Indians. Escobar pitched into tough luck last year as he had a losing record with an ERA in the mid 3's. This year he has pitched even better and with better results as he is 3-1 with a 2.84 ERA. Jeremy Sowers has gotten off to an awful start as he is still looking for his first win on a team that has done well. Sowers ERA is flirting with six, so we look for the Angels to come away with their second straight over Cleveland

With the way the White Sox have handled right-handed pitching (156-92) and have performed as a road dog (35-21) at this price the past three years, there's no reason to not play them against the Twins. The Pale Hose also fit into a 41-21 angle as road dog when posted 'total' is 8 to 8 1/2 runs.
