Its time to start laying the modest chalk against them until the books juice it up some.

They have been one of the best bargins in baseball so far this season.

Better pitching, better hitting and, more importantly, better attitudes.

The new GM in KC was being groomed to take over Sherholtz's (spell?) spot in Atlanta, before he was hired by KC....and is highly regarded in the league. He made a number of "under the radar" moves before the trade deadline as soon as he got there last summer (ie., getting rid of either poor attitudes or work ethic) and during the winter, including purging of Affeldt and Sisco. I also believe they also have 3 or 4 of the top 20 minor league prospects.

It will take some time and there are limits for the small market club, but they are headed in the right direction. There is also less interference from the owners.

But the bottom line is the ROYALS have THE worst ROI in all of baseball.

Thats hard to do when you are a dog every single day.

As a matter of fact, I dont know if I have ever seen a team with ROI stats like that before.

True.

And these initaitves will take some time. And they are still pretty scary on the road. Look how Detroit all took us by surprise in 2006, but they were building that team from ground up two or three years before that when they were winning less than 60 games.

On the fiipside, MIL has the highest return on investment right now. But would you be jumping the gun to invest in them in when they play those big bats in NY and Phila the next week? I certainly would not be because I believe they are getting "public" now and they are getting overvalued due the vast majority of games against the weak NL Central.

I guess we all should have been taking advantage of this.

Dont think the books are going to keep hanging cheap numbers against the Royals much longer.

BTW, Chop, to answer your question. The Tomahawk does not always chop. For some reason it just stopped when I opened this thread.
