Pittsburgh Pirates
Money Line -108 for Game
A Lerew -R must Start I Snell -R must Start
Risking $1,080.00 To Win $1,000.00 USD

-------------------------------------------------

Lets just remember that when you see this play, your going to think oh Christ, hes on the pirates again. Hes a fucking homer and so on. Well I had Atlanta last night for a pretty nice penny because I thought that was a huge mismatch last night.

Well Pittsburgh fucked me a couple days ago when I had them big, because of 1 inning when we had 2 outs and they got 4 runs on the board. Well, today should be different. Snell is on the mound today and when he is on the mound vs anyone, pirates have a good chance of winning. With going against a young ATL pitcher who really hasn't proven himself, I believe there is great value in this play. Combine that with people will take atlanta just because they are Atlanta and they are playing the pirates. I got this line early because I believe it should only go up. This is no lock, no GOY or any other bullshit, I posted my ticket because it was easy just to copy/paste. I have been on a nice run combined with liking the pitching matchup and a gut feeling and poor money management, I decided to go big on this game and thinking about going down to PNC to watch it.

So with that all said, I would love to hear opinions or comments.

I think Chipper is out today as well. But something about this matchup scares me from a pirates point of view. good luck.

So far, when Ian Snell has pitched this season, the Pirates have won-lost-won-lost-won-lost-won-....

Good luck bro!

Jasin, first off good luck on your play. I see your a local so I am curious to know what the locals think of Jim Tracy and this team. From afar they look to be one big mess.

How does Adam Laroche continue to get at bats. The last 2 nights I was following the game on Yahoo and he grounded into inninng ending double plays. Seems to me this guy should be sitting for more than one game or even maybe get sent down to get his stroke back.

Secondly, is the minor league system that void of pitchers that Tony Armas, Jr. has as many starts as he does this season. If that is the case then this organization could be one if not the worse organization in all of professional sports. I remember seeing something in spring training that one of the pitchers they sent down was pitching excellent in the spring but they didnt have room on the roster for him. Who was it and did he blow up once he got in the minors? If he is pitching well and still not on the active roster while Armas goes out there and gives them no chance to win then it just proves my point what a joke of a team they are.

P.S. While I like Snell it only takes a couple of runs to beat this dead bat Pirates team. Snell can give you 7-8 quality innings but the Pirates do have to score at some point for you to win.

Well, honestly, I don't believe ANY manager could come into this team and turn it around, like you said, its a lot deeper than just coaching the players. Sure we don't have to coach Bay or the other vets on our team(unless they slump, I believe everyone needs coaching at some point no matter how good you are, or think you are). But anyway, the pirates continue to stun me year after year, if we are hoovering around .500 at the end of the year, its a miracle, and it shouldn't be like that. With as many straight years we have been bad, you would think we would have a pretty decent young team. Instead we bring people over like Laroche who had success but how many years does he really have left and in what I have seen of him all year...looks like the dude has lost his swing and cant find it.

But anyway, I think tracy is doing an alright job, I think he is definetely better than mcclendon. But like I said and your know, pirates problems are very deep and the coaching is not what we have to focus on IMO.

The thing Pirates fans have overlooked about LaRoche is that he really didn't start to produce last year for the Braves until after the All-Star break. He batted something like .220 through the first 4-5 weeks of the season, which, granted, is better than the .160 he's batting now but not a WHOLE lot.

Not to mention, he was always expected to be the 3rd or even 4th guy in Atlanta behind Chipper, Andruw, and/or Francoeur and/or McCann. Being #1 or #2 is a totally different expectation.

As for the game today, Snell has had some trouble with Atlanta in his career so I think this game is a bit too hard to call on the even line. Gotta root for my hometown boys but good luck :toast:

I understand your point about Laroche, but is this going to happen every year? Hes going to bat .200 avg until the all star break? I'm just saying I guess we did expect too much from him, but he is underachieving to say the least.

Well personally I would argue that last year was more of an outlier than anything and that he's not really a .290/30/95 guy, more of a .275/25/75 guy...
