Not a big surprise, they usually rest him for the last starter, and Saltalamacchia caught for Lerew his last time out as well. In my opinion Salty is the better player anyway, I think the Braves are going to regret not having him behind the dish in the future. They can, however, look forward to a great slate of prospects for him when they eventually trade...
As for the game today, McCann has been on a bit of an offensive slide while Salty still hasn't been forced to make any adjustments in the majors. And Salty's defense is without question better than McCann's. This is a non-factor IMO and maybe even an edge to the Braves.
