(47-18)(+24.50 units) favorite bets
(17-25)(-3.26 units) underdog bets

(64-43)(+21.24 units) overall

I went 2-1 (+0.99 units) on Sunday. All three were favorites. I had winners with the Cubs and Mets and my only loser was with Atlanta. This just must be my year. I know I am a decent capper, but I am amazed at my record with favorites, especially when you consider none of them were over -150. I guess sometimes you just need to be lucky as well.

I am really struggling to find games to play today. Usually when I first look at the lines, a few jump out at me and them I look at them closer. I only saw one, maybe two at first glance. Here is what I came up with.

Phillies -114 vs Milwaukee……….This one might not be a popular play today. We have the under-achieving phillies vs the very popular brewers. Much has been made about the brewers playing a light schedule and that is why they have the best record in the national league. I think baseball is a game of streaks. No matter how good or had bad you are, you are going to win a third of your games, you are going to lose a third of your games and it is the other third that decides where you finish in the standings. The brewers are due to come back down to earth, while the phils are due to at least get their record above 500. Now that April is over, the phillies are playing a little better. I don’t know how he does it, but phils pitcher Jamie Moyer, along with fellow left Cole Hamels, continue to be their best and most consistent pitchers. One is old, the other is young. This line should be higher than -114 at Philadelphia. I see value with the fightin phils today.

Mets -143 vs Cubs…………Great pitching matchup. Glavine vs Marquis. Both pitching great. Maybe under should be the play, but I suck at totals. I will go with the more reliable Mets. Whoever reads my post on a regular basis know that I always take a shot at the Cubs, who you just cannot trust. And this year they are trying to be like the Yankees and buy a team, so I will really enjoy laughing at them along with their former Yankees manager. I am sure some cubs fans might be one me about this, but that is ok, I can take it. Just a strong gut feeling in this one, I might be wrong and I wish the line was a little lower, but I have to follow my gut in this one.

San Diego -144 vs Cincinnati……………Maddux almost always pitches well vs these Reds. Last year he was 5-0, with an era of 2.40. Reds struggling right now as well losing three in a row and 8 out of 10. Facing a pitcher who dominates them is not a way to break out of a slump, I can tell you that. Unless Griffey belts a couple of homers in this one, Pads should be a winner.

I think just for the heck of it, I am going to throw two dogs in the mix for tonight. I did this one day last week and gained a split which made me a profit. I am just going to take two big favorites which appear like there is little chance of losing, and go against them.

Washington +170 vs Atlanta

Kansas City +160 vs Oakland

Doesn’t it look like I could play a moneyline parlay on those two favs and have a great shot at winning? Of course it does, but one will lose. I will try it.

Good Luck Everybody!!

Been a while since I had an undefeated night. I was lucky last night on a couple of games, but I will take it.
