playing florida under the 8

could be some fatigue here for the marlins. a lot of people fairly assume there is a certain amount of fatigue that comes along with playing a day game after a long and/or extra inning game the night before. but i think its the 2nd game after that where the fatigue really shows. you cant trick your body the 2nd night.

florida played that delayed game with washington on saturday night that finished at almost 2 in the morning. then they came back and played sunday afternoon.

... now they are traveling east to play in pittsburgh tonight. this looks like a dead spot for the marlins.

the good news for the under is that willis has been lights out against pittsburgh in his career with a 2.79 career ERA against the pirates. meanwhile, gorzelanny has been pitching well over the last month.

really like the under here and think its worth a play.

Thanks, prodigy, for the play. I played Under 8 myself. I watched the last inning on MLB.tv Mosaic (and of course, PIT teased me with a 5-run insurance inning in bottom of 8th to make it a 7-0 game!).

Looks like you nailed it with FLA being tired & keeping the game Under with no runs. The boxscore showed Willis holding PIT to only 2 runs in 6 innings before FLA's bullpen gave up the extra runs.

Thanks again.

thanks calvin. my primary focus was on the nba game tonight but was keeping an eye on this flor/pitt game on the gametracker. ive been doing this long enough to know that nothing is in the books until it goes final. but it was a little ridiculous to have to sweat a 2-0 game heading into the bottom of the 8th. dont you love this professional bullpen work on some teams? yikes. glad you made a few bucks.
