Hell yes, and he's very good at it. He's also been known to "accidently" slide his foot under jump shooters, leading to sprained ankles. I hope he tears his acl while up to his tricks one of these days. :youmad:
He's money from the baseline anytime I don't need him to drain a 3 , if I have him he misses both FT's, he's been a thorn in a lot of players sides for 10 years....it was soooo obvious he carried that leg into Nash groin area.
Absolutley not a dirty player. Wish everyone played with his attitude. I was at the Atlantis hotel and he was staying there on the floor. Extremely nice person. Great defender and people can't handle it.

He's not dirty - he just plays balls to the wall defense - any team that wants to win a ring could use a Bowen - Houston and Sprewell said they were so happy to see him go to the west when the Heat let him go - he may be the best man to man defender ever - 2 years ago Marion averaged like 7 points a game versus SA in the playoffs - now he is guarding PG's - as I see it you need to have a Bowen, Artest or Kirlilenko on you team - and there has been alot of talk about Kirilienko going to SA in the off season.
Regardless, let me know when you see Bowen throw a punch or dlibertately kick someone - and he was clearing space against Nash - that's why he is not suspended - Stoudamire is good at crying and dunking when wide open - that's some game he has.
Not dirty at all. One of the all-time greats on D.
I really like those 3 guys you mentioned Seymour. I've made it known that I think Artest is top 10 in the NBA and Kirilenko is excellent as well. Bowen doesn't have the offense of those 2 but is a better defender than both.
Everytime I see Bowen I think of Rick Pitino's famous line on him when he became coach of the Celtics. He said of Bowen: " He is John havlicek without the jump shot". Many of you do not know who Havlicek is but I can assure you he is leaps and bounds ahead of Bowen. He was rated in the top 50 NBA all time and one of the best Celtics ever. Pitino was run out of here and that was one of the many reasons why. That is like comparing Carlos Boozer to Duncan. You may like Boozer but lets get real here. Probably worse than that.
I think being a great defender and playing dirty , kind of goes hand in hand ... Bowen does a great job of disguising it though .... I doubt he does the stuff he does on purpose , but when you play D as tough as he does , sometimes people get hurt ....
Also, no doubt, dirty as hell. Like I said, he's really good at it. Most of the cheap shots he takes are very subtle, but they are cheap. Reminds me of Stockton in that regard.
Notes: The Spurs retired Bruce Bowen’s No. 12 after the game. Bowen was on the league’s All-Defensive team eight times and started on the Spurs’ championship teams in 2003, 2005 and 2007
