Hypathetically speaking, let's just pretend the feds give a fuck for a second.

What's stopping them from reading a bash sign up thread on here, waiting until August 17th, obtaining a warrant and getting every single name and address of people that checked into the flamingo under the Rx discount ?

With a little snooping around they could bust each and every one of us on tax evasion if nothing else.

Doesn't matter if it's a hassel for small bettors. Would be headlines and a statement. Something to get a point across and make an example of.

I don't think they'd do it either, I'm just saying. RIAA went after small downloaders when they were trying to make a statement a few years back and succeeded in getting headlines. That was just for mp3's and shit, not offshore wagering which I think would be more important.

they have to prove you're a winning gambler. the majority of degenerates aren't. it would be a waste of money to go after a couple hundred gamblers, who over 75% are probably net losers and don't owe any taxes.

it makes more sense to go after the bookmakers since its clear as day that they're doing something illegal.

I didn't mean insinuate it would be worthwhile financially. Any dope that has withdrawn $500 via e check from bodog over the last few years could be arrested and it would be front page news.

They would be sending a HUGE message to the rest of the country.

It would backfire, same as it did when they started charging people with piracy for downloading tunes from Napster. The general public gets pissed when the feds start picking on the little guys.

If they do start arresting gamblers, it'll be big-timers, and it'll be for tax evasion and money laundering.
