Hoping to draw fans from the Orlando market, the Devil Rays have moved this series to The Ballpark at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. The 9,500-seat stadium is about 20 miles southwest of downtown Orlando and will be the smallest ballpark to host a major league game since the Athletics opened the 1996 season with six "home" dates at 9,000-seat Cashman Field in Las Vegas while improvements were made at Oakland Coliseum.

Crowd is going to be crazy tonight.

Wonder how big of a crowd they will get

If they can't sell out a 9,500 in Disney World's busiest time of the year, they should consider selling the Devil Rays to Mexico. :lolBIG:

They'll fill they seats each game.

are the games indeed sold out already?

Upon further review......

With temporary stands and outfield berm seating, capacity can be expanded to 13,000 at Disney, which has been the spring training base for the Atlanta Braves since 1997. Although advance ticket sales have been slow, officials remain optimistic that cooperative weather will spur a strong walk-up gate. The series begins tonight.

A typical midweek series against Texas would probably draw around 7-8000 anyways, so it's not like the team is missing out. I think the attendence will be around those numbers in Orlando.

Front page of DMN SportsDay newspaper in Dallas today, headline reads:

"NO CURE FOR THESE RANGER'S BLUES"
then underneath reads:
"There are 124 games left, but let' face it - there's zero hope"
by staff writer Tim Cowlishaw.

I've been saying over and over and over something is wrong with this Ranger team. I keep hearing how the 'manager' is a perfect fit. Hmmmm. Pitching is horrendous. I compare them to the Astros, but at least the Astros have a coupla decent pitchers (Oswalt, etc).

Now, Millwood is sidelined with hamstring. The pitching just sucks ass.

Just an FYI if you are looking at this game (and the Rangers overall).

Fade to your hearts content on these guys.
