I personally think that the playoffs should be considered when voting for the MVP. It is hard to deny that Dirk was of MVP caliber during the regular season. He was a great player on the NBA's best (record) team.

I do, however, think that his poor defense and inability to adjust his play to the tempo of a game slip under the radar.

I agree that the playoffs should be included. If you're MVP of the regular season, then your team is in the playoffs anyway. It's not like other sports.

If you ask me, Shaq was the MVP last year. He didn't dominate the regular season because he didn't have to. Why burn himself out?? He waits till the playoffs and then turns it on.

Shaq was the MVP and you base it on him dogging the season and stepping up in the post season? Are you aware that the Wade single handidly won a title with no help from anyone on his team whatsoever?

But who else would you consider? And dont say NASH!!! No way is Nash worth THREE MVPS in a row!

I agree that Dirk is not the classical MVP of the season but i dont see anyone else really DESERVING it! So why not Dirk!?

No way!! Miami can't win without Shaq. What was there record with Shaq out of the lineup compared to when Wade is out?? When other teams have to worry about O'neal in the low post, it creates opportunities you wouldn't have other wise.

Were the Lakers anywhere near the same when he left?? They still had Kobe.

another brilliant official position by the NBA. Reward the biggest choker with MVP, give the biggest group of thugs a playoff advantage. Puke
