It was a so-so night last night with the big win on the Jays and then the pathetic loss on the Dodgers but thats how things work and now I want to get back on track. I have been lights out with my 50 unit wagers in the early games and that is about to continue. HERE WE GO:
BOSTON RED SOX ML -130
Well when it comes down to it, I have no problem whatsoever laying this kind of price on the best team in baseball regardless of a win or loss in the first game of the series. Believe it or not, Tim Wakefield is one of the best pitchers in the AL this season and he has by far been the most consistent starter after Josh Beckett. I would even go as far as saying that he has been somewhat more efficient than Beckett because of the teams he has faced and because of the lineups he has faced. On top of that, Wakefield has always dominated this Tigers lineup and I don't think things are going to change tonight. The Tigers managed only one run against Dice K last night and he ended up going the distance which is really going to help tonight because the bullpen is well rested and if Wakefield runs into problems early, they'll be able to come in and pitch some efficient innings. Verlander is on the mound for the Tigers tonight and although the team has been winning when he pitches, Verlander has an ERA of 4.11 and WHIP of 1.76 in his last three starts which can only mean that he is going to struggle against the power in the Red Sox lineup. Like I mentioned before, Wakefield is on a roll right now and he has always enjoyed pitching against the Tigers and their lineup. Wakefield has allowed only 11 hits in his last three starts while Verlander has allowed 24 in his last three starts. This is going to be a good game but the Red Sox have no reason to slow things down. Detroit always struggles at Fenway and I am calling for them to lose another one tonight. GO RED SOX BABY!
