I realize the NBA has a rule for leaving the Bench with a fight, but come on?? Amare did no damage, how do you watch the leader of your team get jacked into the wall and not leave the bench? Is he supposed to just sit there and act like nothing happened? Now if he would have gotten into the middle of it and throw some elbows or something then obviously the suspension would be fine. I think the NBA should re-visit this rule, he acted in the heat of the moment and got up to check out if his teammate was ok. Coaches held him back and he wasnt going nuts or anything, he calmed down and didnt cause any harm whatsoever. I just think its sad that this could have a determination of the series instead of letting the players on the court decide the outcome.. this is a huge loss for the Suns

I would imagine the thread titled "Stoudamire, Diaw Suspended for Game 5 " w/ 75 replies to the subject...has some opinions about it.

Exactly my thoughts! I'll just add that it was right in front of the Suns bench as well. Diaw for example was probably just running to see if Nash is OK and not really to start a fight with the Spurs players.

David Stern has turned the NBA into a joke. I used to love when there was a good brawl in a playoff series; it made the game so much more intense. But with that aside, the rule about leaving the bench as it stands is absolute bullshit because there is no discretion whatsoever in how it is enforced.

THEY NEED TO CHANGE THE RULE.

He broke the rule, you have to pay the time!

Robert Horry left the bench as well, but he was only excited about the dunk and that wasnt an altercation

No, that was Tim Duncan....and why bother having a commissioner if he can't exercise any common sense/discretion?
