Not much I have liked lately, been keeping the plays real small with a bunch of 1*'s, and a 2* every now and again. Today a few plays jump out at me, and will have a few bigger plays today it looks like. Looking for a monster day. Leading off:
2* New York Yankees -1.5 -110
There is a difference between the two "slumping" lineups today: One is outstanding and cold, the other is good, and injured and cold.
I think the "off" day yesterday bc of rain will really do the Yankees good. They needed a day to get past that Seattle series (they never seem to do well out west), and focus back up on hitting the baseball instead fo just coming out to the yard off a plane trip and go through the motions. Although the lefthanded Danks has a favorable matchup vs. the lefthanded Yankee lineup, I think Danks has a tall task today of being a young guy trying to feel his way through the big leagues and try to stop this lineup that is simply due for a breakout game.
The Whitesox have major injuries and still just cant score runs. Mussina has always seemed to pitch good enough to win vs. the Whitesox, and that was even during their "prime" the past couple years. He seems a lock to give up a couple runs, but nothing damaging. Jim Thome has been a Mussina killer with tons of RBIs and HRs vs. Mussina over their careers, but he's obviously out. The rest of these guys have combined for just 3 homeruns over 270+ at bats, which is terrible. Mussina has pitched well since coming back off the DL, makes his 3rd start here, and I will ride him in this spot.

Yankees are 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss.
Yankees are 9-2 in their last 11 opening games of a double-header.
Yankees are 4-1 in Mussina's last 5 starts with 6 days of rest.
Yankees are 8-3 in Mussina's last 11 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.

White Sox are 3-7 in their last 10 opening games of a double-header.
White Sox are 8-22 in their last 30 games as a home underdog.
White Sox are 1-4 in their last 5 games following an off day.
More later.
