Whatever happens, Torre has too much class to be fired in the middle of the year....I hope loyalty counts for something...

Torre will NOT get fired in 2007. He's the only reason Clemens joined the Yankees.

RON GUIDRY is another story.

George admires Joe, he'll finish 2007, most likely Joe will manage his last game in Oct of 2007, unless NYY pulls a miracle out of their ass in September, but with this bullpen, I can't see that happening.

Joe had a great run , face it though , the average astute baseball fan could have won several WS rings managing this team over the past decade.

Don't sell Joe short J-Man, he deflected a lot of behind the scenes shit, that many managers could not deal with.

Joe was the right man for the job the past dozen years, but his time is done.

Agreed...

He is out after this season...if not sooner...

One thing that is obvious...he is turning into a "meat grinder" with his pen...I know their pen stinks, but to burn guys up in May is bad managing...

I think it speaks volumes that they are now in last place...

With the highest payroll in baseball...tied with the D-Rays and their tiny payroll.

Unless he can teach guys to not take line drives off the knee and fingers, loosen up their hamstrings, or start a few games himself there's not much he can do about all these injuries. They've started 7 rookies this year so far, that's insane. They're lucky they're even near 500

IMO Cashman seems set up to take the hit before Torre. George should realize that the Yankees just can't win every year no matter how much money he throws at the team. The Yankees need to start getting talent developed from within like they did back in the latter part of the 90's.

Any how I think Roger will win a game before Joe gets fired.

Yanks are poorly run and that is Cashman. They need to start over and do it right...sacrifice just a little short term but way better for the long term. Incredibly the team is too stupid and stubborn to do that.

Torre was the right man for this job. He handles this star studded team very well including a cookoo owner. Not easy. His time appears up tho.

The yanks shouldn't fire torre as a punishment. The yanks would be doing Torre a favor by letting him go at this point. Let him suffer with this team like the rest of us.

The yanks would also be idiotic to bring in the "next" yankee manager of the future on this team at this point. Unless the guy had this team play .700 ball the rest of the season his start as a yankee manager would be a failure.
