Suggestions Please, thanks

Took a couple days off and then went to post plays today and my company has put a ban on gambling related web sites. I tried a couple proxys and they were blocked too. Big company with lots of resources so I am sure it is pretty air tight but maybe some of you computer gurus have some suggestions? Otherwise my opportunities to post on the RX will be very limited. I often work late and when I do not I don't have much time at home to spend on the computer. I enjoy reading other's opinions and like to share my plays for the lurkers who may be interested, but it seems I may be s.o.l. Any advice is appreciated.

If you can handle being fired I would say try to crack that block. Otherwise you'll have alot of catch up reading after work.

It's very difficult, if not impossible. I had the same thing happen like 4 years back. If you really enjoy posting your plays maybe you could find someone willing to post them for you if you email them. Sorry to hear if you won't be around as much man.

Now I have no access there and like yourself like to lurk and see what others have as plays and opinions. It really sucks. I have been trying to find ways around it too but with no luck yet. Keep me updated if you find a "backdoor" way. It is just strange that the same thing happened to you 2.

tell work you have to shit really bad go home read and post your picks then go back to work and act like you took a load off. helps if you like the home turf cause it makes for an easy excuse.

Could be that they use the same company or software and the software was recently updated to include the RX as a banned site???

I had an idea but it was shot down quickly. Rather than using www.therxforum.com (or older link, forum.therx.com), I did wonder if using the IP address would not flag the security software. This would only work if the security software is looking at words in the address like "forum" & "bet".

In any case, the IP address of this forum is 64.40.117.5. But it is not designed to be accessed through the IP alone. It would be nice if RX either allowed using IP as your http address to browse the forum (but if a security software is adaptive, it probably would block the IP address itself as well).

Basically, RX should have a mirror where the http address (and backup IP address) shows nothing to do with gambling in the root/child web.

Wait, you can't access www.therx.com either? The software must have flagged the whole website based on how the advertisements link to many other gambling websites. Tough to get around it if that is the case.

Personally, if I lose my ability to access multiple sites (whether gambling related or not) at work, I would rather get a cheap laptop (or probably a nice tablet, instead) with broadband access to have anywhere away from home.

I have a verizon card but doesn't pick up in the building i work in...just screwed i guess, but thanks for the feedback.

That sucks. We use Verizon PCMCIA cards at work as well (for work use) and I was surprised that this commercial building didn't block off the connectivity as it's still good for us.

There's some links to previous discussions in the forum, sounds like you might be out of luck. As someone stated earlier, I'd volunteer to post your plays with an e-mail from you, but I'd imagine that's not the sort of solution you're looking for. I'm definitely willing to help look for a solution though as I think you're a valuable contributor to the forum.
