I say hell NO!!!

It would bother me if I was his teammate and he was there whenever he wanted. Sorry but I would not want a teammate like that no matter how good he was.

I can only equate it (and I know this is weak) too when I played highly competitive softabll and we played 4 nites a week and 3 out of 4 weekends a month. I want to go to war with the guys who are there everyday going to battle with me. Nothing distrubed me (and my teammates) more than a guy who wasn't on the same level with us and had the same feelings about the team than myself.

I would seriously rather lose with my guys than win with guys that were not truly my teammates, who were fighting for the same cause. If everyone took Clemens appraoch to this than you wouldn't have 1/5 of the team not there nightly. Be a good sport/teammate and support your guys 100% or stay away completely as I promise you that you are doing more worse than good.

This is the ultimate selfish act (IMO)!!!

meant to post the word teammate (not teammates) on the top of the thread. Hopefully a mod can fix it.

since he will be making a million bux a game he could pay everyone on his team 10k per game to be his friend. Most I think would not mind having a legend on the mound even if it isn't full time.

I don't like it one bit...I mean one year was enough, he might do this for another 2-3 years- who knows , it's comical and making a mockery of the rules.....

MLB already had that silly rule in place about not being able to resign with your team until May 1st if you didn't resign by a certain date which actually helped Clemens the first time he pulled this...I think it's time to make a new rule.

Yeh...being around a great player of baseball is like being in the presence of a god, isn't it?

Technically speaking, nobody has ever made more money in 1 season than Clemens will make this year. It's pretty obvious he is a cash whore.

What the hell was it like 25 Million $ to play a little more than half a season?! That works out to be like 40 million for a full season!

If this isnt panic mode for George, I dont know what is. And I bet Brian had nothing to do with the negotation. And that has been the thing about the Yanks that has fascinated me over the last few years, is that you effectively have 2 GM's on duty.

I don't mind posting along side you and you've made it very clear you are retired and rich beyond your years, so I guess it depends on the jealousy factor...I say congrats my legendary internet friend :103631605 even if you are not here full time , it's better than not having you.

To each his own but as far as MLB rules go this isn't a good thing IMO.

tongue in cheek post, the check didn't bounce did it :think2:

Kyle Farnsworth already said yesterday that it wasn't right in his opinion, and although Kyle has virtually no street credit with his 26 MLB wins, he IS a member of that team. Maybe Clemens will confront him and throw down-not recommended.:nono5: Brad Penny was just quoted as saying that Maddux has helped him tremendously with tips as the two of them watch games from the dugout. But Bloated Boy is above all of that, right?

LOL. retired, but definitely not what I consider rich. In light of my recent posting I almost qualify as full time. I am in total agreement in that I would not want him on my team. If you polled MLB players I think you would get the opposite result though. The check has not made it to my bank yet.

Surely you are not going to turn down the money offered to you. I would think any team would still be happy to have him pitching every fifth day, even if it's $18m+ Also, it's not like the rest of the Yankees are going to starve anyway. One more thing, he is always in great condition, rarely miss a start, unlike Randy, Pettitte, Wang, Wright, Hughes, Pavano....

Who on the yankees has a right to bitch about anything. Farsworth should be released tomorrow, I don't care how good or cheap you are. If you don't know how to act like a pompous asshole, you have no right playing for the Yankees.

I wouldn't care one bit if the guy was winning games and helping the club on the field. He's a pitcher for goodness sake anyways, plays once every five days. Not to mention arguably the greatest pitcher of this generation, and top 5 all-time. Farnsworth needs to stfu and be happy they got the guy.
