I've devoted much time to discussing how bullpens 'cutoffyourballs'.
There is NO closer, anymore, no Goose Gossage, no Tug McGraw, never gets to that point. That bullpen 'middle relief guy' (I use that term LOOSELY!), gives up the lead, then the coach comes out, grabs one of his arms, points, and then tugs on his ball sack. We, the betting guy, just sits, orders another beer, then gets fucked. It is TOO LATE by that point. We have lost.
So, Im all for the play of taking the better pitcher for the FIRST 5 innings.
SNELL, PITTS, wins tonight with this method. Damn, I don't have to sweat Gilligan coming in after the Skipper saying "Hey, little buddy, co'mon in and keep us in the game, throw some coconuts, OK? I know you've been drifting in and out of your vicodin buzz, but see if you can keep these guys off base for a while. Mean while, your 72 mph fastball looks like a watermelon, and shit, suddenly, schmuck-team is beating us.
Sorry, little buddy, gotta take you out now. Who can save us ? The professor?
