I know you guys play/played at Digiturf. Did you start out w/ a free horse? How was that horse? My horse is 2 wins and 5 places in 7 races. I'm trying to gauge if i have a good horse or they give you a good horse so you fund your account.

Thanks

Sorry man. I got you mixed up w/ the other guy.

Understandable since I commented in Jake's horse thread. I haven't bet a horse in years, but I used to play a little even though I have no reason to believe I can beat it. Actually I played jai-alai a lot more, which is similar in betting structure, small track horses/dogs/jai-alai are pretty similar.

This is actually virtual horse racing. Not the ones at bet cris, but it is more complex. I bet on Jai Alai once in Cancun. It was a simulcast. I was so confused. I lost to say the least.

Jai-alai is not too hard to understand when seen live, on a monitor it is difficult to follow because of the speed of the game ( 150 mph +), size of the court ( 180 feet + in length), and low quality of the camera work and equipment. Its fun to attend live, and there are definite factors that lead to certain number combinations being more likely, and some near impossible.

Its something I'd suggest to somebody visiting Florida, if they have never seen it. Admission and great seats costs like $5.

Looks like an easy sport to cheat at (not trying hard enough).

not too much money in cheating, only potential is to tap the betting pool ( maybe 10k a game) and you can't get all of that, plus you'd really need all the players (16 in doubles) in on it, plus confederates to bet.

Players get a salary plus a purse for WPS.

Judges make a lot of bad calls. Players do miss a lot of balls that look very easy compared to spectacular plays they make.

There just isn't a whole lot to skim, though.

The scoring system used in USA ( spectacular seven) can only realistically be cheated by fixing the game to produce a very difficult trifecta like 5-6-7 or 8-7-6 etc. with 3 high numbers in it. Scoring favors at least one number under 5 to at least show.

The fix is very hard to do with little reward.

Even if you knew that the player in post #5 was throwing a particular game ( will not WPS) you wouldn't have a ton off help with that info only.

Any team can win a game, no team should really ever be over 10-1, or under 3-1 to win.

Jai alai is great game.

its only in FLA now, RI and CT had it but casinos killed it. LV had it too. I think some of the Fla frontons have closed also. Otherwise one has to go to Spain,Mexico, and a few other countries to see it.

It is very entertaining, much more so than a dog or horse race,IMO.
