Some betting places offer a % rebate that can be taken
advantage of. But yes you are correct horse racing is a
tough sport. I can loss a grand in three days easy where
in the sport book it can last two months. Sometimes I can
request a check from sports betting. That is not the case
for horse racing. Most days I could through darts and do better.
I'm surprised these tracks ( esp. small ones like Jake's Lesbois can even survive anymore).
If you bet that track at 5D, I don't see how the bets make it into the PM pool...not that you want them to).
So offshores hurt the handle, that pays the purses and stuff, unless it somehow gets in the pool, but that seems unlikely...
It seems you could even manipulate odds with a tiny pool ?
When you look at the hold as being like -160 on a spread, I start to think that almost nobody beats that... without some clever strategy like betting $1 off-track ( hard combos) when its $2 on track, stuff like that.
