I am labeling this as the "why" picks. I look for a team that is priced, and it just does not make sense. Ask yourself, why are the oddsmakers making team A a favorite over team B?" I do research and back the plays. I will be posting picks on this forum. The resdon for the play is simply it looks easy to take the other team or oddsmakers may know something. They are telling us something here.

First, it seems that the Angels have a good series head to head vs the Tigers, going 14-5 in their last 19 at Detroit. One can also see that the Angels are playing well right now 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Angels are also batting .277 vs lefties L10 and .287 away this year. One should really look at Angels starter John Lackey tonight. He really is improving and is throwing the ball well this year. He has great numbers vs the Tigers in his career. 5-0 in seven games, 49.1 inn, 19 er, 5 hr, 41/20 k/bb, 3.47 era. He is also a good road pitcher 3-2, 33.1 inn, 10 er, 2 hr, 28-6 k/bb, 2.70 era.
On the other side is Mike Maroth. Yes the Tigers are yet to lose when he starts, but his home games have not been that great. 2 games, 12.1 inn, 7 er, 2 hr, 6-3 k/bb, 5.11 era, .320 baa.

Tavarez is 1-2 away, 20.1 inn, 12 er, 16-10 k/bb, 5.31 era. More important, the Yankees are 10-4 in game 2 of a series this year. Add in the rivarly factor, and the Yankees should win in a slugfest. I look for 8-5 type game.
